He did a series of these in 1993 for Kiss FM. All of them were done in the studio as far as I can tell, with a lot of extra samples and editing over the top. Here's another one:

Some of the tracks and even the transitions here are clearly the forerunner of the first Renaissance Mix Collection.

I've not heard the one you've linked, so that's my Saturday afternoon sorted.

These were great mixes and jack is correct, they were basically a loose series of mixes he did for Kiss FM when it was still a pirate station and not the commercial tripe it later became).

Here's a few of the others:

thx for posting these sets. Are there more from 1993? to download. The music from this time is timeless

Actually, I didn't find them timeless at all. There are some great tracks on there but fuck me does a lot of it sound incredibly dated.

Offtopic but goddamn I love Coma, some of Charlie's best work *tear. Must admit though find editing out the glitch does the trick for me.

I don't why, maybe but something about early/mid-90s electronic is like the pinnacle for me. Tracks like this are still my choice in the background when I am working on something:

I've been co-producing/writing contemporary Big Room EDM for like 5 years but I still listen to the old stuff, like as a listener, the stuff that got me into electronic music from the beginning.

I've been a big fan of this track since shortly after it was released. In fact, just yesterday I had to just play it, because it was kicking around in my mind.

my goodness this set reeks awesomeness! thanks for the share, a shame the quality isn't that good. Timeless sets like these incorporates all sorts of electronic genre into one. you get your breaks, leftfield house to 90s hard trance mashed with some acid grooves all the way to italian rave and ends with some goa touch.. simply mindblowing!

Nice thread and mixes - thanks for the share. I too find myself going back to listening to the older original stuff that got me into the scene.

Tbh, that's how club nights were back in the 90's. You got a real mix, starting with house, maybe going in to breaks, then grinding prog precursors, in to trance/hard house and even goa. It was far more just about electronic music and not all so pigeon holed.

Thanks for the post! At this point in my life I mainly listen to house and techno but nothing gets my juices flowing like an old school Sasha set. Fuck me was he the best in his prime

Wow!

Been playing the OP set on repeat... uplifting in parts, super melodic in others, and mind-melting in others.
