Aguila - The Club On 27th West

Just saw this new release coming up. I'm not sure but I think this is another sub label of Lobster Theremin.

Needless to say the name of this EP obviously points out to Twilo and is leaning towards the mid 90's time period of progressive house / trance. I don't think this sounds too far from what Blue Amazon was putting out back then.

I'm curious what everybody think about this stuff. Does this sound too dated and corny now or are people still into this just as much as back then?

actually I'm quite impressed. sick track.

Are these actually any good? I'm not convinced. All of them are a bit sickly for my taste, and my love of '90s sunrise tunes is well documented.

Also, is this kind of fluff really what we associate with Twilo? I think of pounding tribal rhythms as the Junior Vasquez hard NYC sound shifts into dark nuclear powered prog courtesy of Breeder and co.

If I'd have to do a comparison... this below. Dated - yes - but I'm sure there will be a fitting context for it.

Otherwise as SJ says. I don't see how an association with late 90s Twilo would be appropriate.

I get more warm musical feelings from reading "West 27th" than from hearing these tracks, I'm afraid.

yupi, although I luved it, it is way more "fresh and low" (first thing that came into my mind) than anything twilo related. not a bad thing actually, but indeed the '27th west' on the title is kinda misleading.

I really like Trance atlantic. I'm indifferent towards the remaining tracks.
