- Chill Out Room
-- Friday 197
Friday 197
I'm at home since Tuesday with a nasty flu and cold. It's time to feel better now.
So no plans here for the weekend, except watching the snow disappear...
Anyone with more exciting plans?
-2F this morning but warm weather for the foreseeable future. Bday + Gday + Sbowl =
Working. Have Sunday off though. Maybe take the babe for a sleigh ride if it isn't polar vortex freezing still.

Actually supposed to warm up Sunday here, 61F and sunny. Might go ride my bike outside for the first time in a while. The rest of the time has been cold as fuck though, haven't gotten much running done at all. I fucking hate treadmills.
Completed on our house purchase today. As of now I'm officially a home-owner, although I won't get the keys until tomorrow afternoon. We've got six weeks notice at our current place, so I just told the family moving out to take their time moving and give us the keys when they're ready.
Once I've got the keys, a friend of mine is visiting town so I'll probably join up with them and get mortally pissed in celebration. And then on Sunday we're having one last mix session at my current flat before I move out.
Weather wise, we've had some decent snow over the last few days. Getting down to -4C here at night, which is fairly cold by our standards.
Congrats Jack, did you know watching home renovation television series will become your new hobby? (own experience
)

Nice here today but had a storm of biblical proportions yesterday and lightning struck the power pole right behind my building, knocking out power for 3500 people.
Only got it back today and it makes you realize how much we rely on modern day convenience for simple tasks.
Congrats Jack! There's truly nothing like being your own landlord.
Must be different in the UK but in here the USA, you want vacant delivery every time; Once you close, that person can stay and the eviction process is a nightmare. I know someone that couldn't get their newly bought house for 8 months becuase the existing tenant refused to leave. And lived there rent free for that whole time
One other piece of advice: If you're planning on doing any renovations, painting, flooring etc, do it in this period before you move in. It's a total ballache once your shit is all in there.
Post pics of the man cave in the DJ setup / Studio pics thread when you're in. Congrats again!
That's awesome, I'm jealous, congratulations Jack. I've been going out with more frequency, gonna hit up some bars with a homie tonight.

Cheers everyone, although when we picked up the keys and walked around, my overwhelming feeling was "Oh shit." The previous owners have left it in a pretty scuzzy state and it needs redecorating top to bottom. Luckily we've got six weeks to freshen it up, but it's only just hitting me now how much time and money this is going to take up.
Very exciting, congrats! I'm sure you guys will enjoy many years of making the home your own.
Soon you will be posting in the parents thread.

Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life . . . But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?

Whatever happened to Ben?
