Friday 213: A Weekend of Cold Ones

Each of you please relay to me your itinerary for my logbooks.

This is an extended weekend here in the United States of America for us to consume more Cold Ones than we normally consume as we remember our blessed troops and the gun things they did with their guns.

Consuming cold ones while hot ones come out of my rear end.

Off to Detroit tomorrow for day one of Movement! Lineup is not too shit hot this year, I basically only bought my ticket to see Orbital. But a buddy is throwing a jam as well, so should be dope times in the D as usual.

Yes I will probably enjoy some cold ones. Mmm Mmmmm. Rave beer.

My weekend was ruined. some guy said "hey that think you want...i can give it to you"

Then, he vanished.

Happy Birthday Man..

I too would like to raise a non alcoholic non caffeinated beverage to those who have served with some mixed cranberry and blueberries.

We went to the Netherlands American Cemetery here in Margraten today.
I have been there a couple of times, but never at Memorial Day.

Always an impressive view, 8293 graves, which all have been adopted by local Dutch people.

I took some pictures of this normally quiet place. In the background many people attended the ceremony, also many US visitors and relatives of the soldiers. At the pictures you can only see half the area, the high building is right in the middle of the cemetery:

I did catch about half, yes. She destroyed the main stage!

Christ, this weekend has been heavy. I saw Carl Cox on Friday night and that was just the beginning.

Oh no you don't.

You don't just post that up without detailed explanation.

SPILL IT

It's Tuesday and I still can't think straight enough to tell the full story. Suffice to say that Cox smashed it so hard I ended up at an after-party 50 miles away in a different city.

Goddamn, I feel tired just thinking about how I'd have to pull it together to travel that far and back again to continue to party. Sooo old lol.

I will say that I did manage to make it to two after parties in Detroit on Saturday night + Sunday morning AND sleep in between. Almost bailed on the Sunday morning festivities but a music note from my group chat pulled me in. Got it together and managed a solid two hours of probably the best music of my whole 24 hours there.

Epic. You make it sound like the beats ejected you in to a different county lol.

Cox is the reason I still go out. When he hangs up the headphones, I'll probably give it all up.

I never heard Mr. Cox Live..is it always banging, like does he always deliver, don't want to be a mishap and enter a dull set out of his good ones. From what I'm reading, yeah, he always delivers I think.

Posted by Silky Johnson on May-29-2019 00:08:

Have seen Cox dozens of times. Definitely always delivers.

It was one of those ideas that sounded fantastic at 6am, but somewhat less so by the time 4pm came around and I was supine on someone's sofa a long, long way from home.

The great thing about Cox is that it's rare to hear a techno DJ who's actually fun. The whole thing felt like a giant party, which of course it was, but sometimes you hear DJs play and it's as though they've forgotten that basic principle. By the end of the night the promoter was bare chested and jumping off stage to crowd surf. When Coxy's on the decks, suddenly that kind of behaviour makes perfect sense.

Arf. According to a friend who was with me, this is something I actually said at about 3am having just walked back into the main room and squinted with rather wobbly eyes through the dry ice to see who was on the decks:

"I can't decide if that's Carl Cox or a speaker stack."
