There's no way Zoso had it closed. Which can only mean RANN asked a mod to do it. I also saw that RANN has deleted some posts in the movie thread recently.

DJ RANN has been lying about who he is/what he does this whole time on TA. Some real multiple degrees level shit. If not worse. His exposure made all the more entertaining because of how he went out, guns a blazing and doubling down right til the end - in the Rise of Skywalker Footage thread.

anyway, there was some RANN sooking in the middle somewhere and i can't remember who fired the first shot, but RANN went at S-J and made some subtle (too subtle for average PKC's to notice) references to S-J's real name and/or job description in an effort to show how easy it was to dox average joes like jack, let alone modern maestros like RANN.

in response (or maybe the initial cause?) others made reference to some of the famous hollywood projects RANN always alludes to working on but apparently it was too close to home for Sir Sook-a-Lot. that stuff though was again way too general for a casual reader to glean anything particularly specific about RANN's amazing hollywood penis.

then (apparently) RANN went and deleted some posts in the thread.

eta- oh wait sorry, something i forgot. RANN threw the gauntlet down and offered a wager where he'd show sushi his "credentials" and then stu would have to tell everyone how amazing RANN was. or something.

He doxxed himself basically. The info is already out there. Sys J pointed out how easy it was to find out, so I checked for myself. Literally two Google searches revealed all. Likely nobody would have even bothered had he not protested so much, lol idiot. Classic big mouth.

A brief recap:

RANN made one of his classic terrible "Attempt to prove something laterally" arguments about Game Of Thrones, so I started giving him shit for it. Despite recognising that I was doing it for the sheer sake of winding him up, he kept biting and getting more and more irritated.

Then at one point I made a crack about his "fictional" previous jobs, because it's a running joke on TA that RANN apparently has done everything and met everyone and has an exclusive inside track on every single subject on the planet. On top of that, I also said that any of his "arguments" would fail as high school essays because they're so shittily reasoned. Some combination of these points obviously touched a nerve with him, and he started trying to intimidate me by revealing he'd Googled everything about me and turned up where I work, from which he made some vague stabs about the nature of my job role.

Right about now, JEO and Lews started doing some digging on RANN, and it turns out it's really, really easy to find his full real name and the name of the company he owns, which he runs with his wife. From there they made some really vague hints that they knew exactly who he was and how much of his boasts about being involved in "big Hollywood projects" were actually true.

At this point he royally shat himself and asked the mods to step in and delete all evidence. He claimed this is because the links contained personal details to himself and his co-workers, but actually they were just links to IMDB cast lists that didn't even show RANN's name on them. The real reason he wanted the links deleting is because he knew they'd make it easier for other people on TA to retrace JEO/Lews' steps and come across the details of his business. The thought of someone "doing a Jay" on the place his wife works was too much for him, and after a couple of entirely unsuccessful posts where he tried to throw us off the scent, he ran off back to meat space and has never returned. Except, apparently, to surreptitiously delete any clues in his posting history he didn't think anyone could ever piece together.

In terms of the extent of his lying, it was pretty much exactly what I always thought it was: the bare, basic details were sort of true, which is why he was willing to use Stu to reveal he knew famous people and had worked on films. What was bullshit was the extent he'd built up talk of "clients" in "the industry" and his "involvement" in big movies to make it sound like he was a successful sound engineer in Hollywood. The truth is that he'd had an incredibly minor role on three films about ten years ago (so minor he doesn't even show up on the IMDB) and then jacked that in to run his wife's business with her. I won't say what the business is, but it's probably the least impressive way to have famous Hollywood clients you could imagine, short of being their fucking plumber.

Rann is a big dummy

I checked out the instagram for the business page and had many lulz over the posts where his wife was calling her clients "My friend" like she's really buddy buddy with these celebs outside of being their servant.

Jokes on us, though, because apparently we've all been DJ RANN all this time.
