Rare Tiesto 2019 Playing Trance

I have no idea this happened why or who but it sounds pretty nice

Was hoping he'd return to this someday. Lucky people.

Not a bad mix into Adagio for Strings.

what a classic

I feel like trance will make a return this decade as far as being the leading genre in dance music

you already see it happening

The last ten minutes of any techno DJ's festival set? Or anything coming out of Copenhagen?

People are definitely making "trance" again, and not even the kind of trance-not-trance we've had for years now. I mean full unabashed '90s unicorn material. None of the Euro-goons populating the self-declared Trance Family scene will get on board with it though.

So where can we find these 90s sounding 2020 EDM tracks? Any examples?

Genuine question: do you ever even try to listen to new dance music or current DJ sets?

I mean, I don't even think it's a good track, but I went on the front page of Beatport and within seconds could see there's a track by Moguai and Kai Tracid in the Top 10 that is basically a piece of '90s acid techno with modern production. If you can't find stuff on the front page of the world's biggest dance music shop, then how can we help you?

Also, on a slightly less commercial tip, here's some Danish techno (read: "trance") I found after about two minutes of clicking around on Discogs. All of these came out in 2019 or 2020 on vinyl:

Cheers J. I somehow thought he meant music from within the self-declared Trance Family scene.

I have tried many many times to look for new stuff, but I feel like finding "good new stuff" can only come from people with some prestige experience in what's actually good and what's not--- one who can discern the two. Any time I find good new stuff, it's extremely rare to find, or other old school listeners show me it.

I'll have to do some much harder digging around, but thanks for showing those other tracks, I like those ones.

already been happening for 10 years, that's why the techno scene is full of maladjusted middle class twitter warriors. It's also why many clubs won't be able to open after covid, quite looking forward to it actually! Will separate the girls from the women and the men from the boys. bring back real dirty sexy industrial funk. I mean, trance was dead after 1994 anyway.

As much as i try, i know that i will always miss good music when looking for new releases, no matter what i do. It's a frustration that i have to learn how to deal with.

Thanks for these suggestions. Appreciate it.

Blimey. Even Cobalt has come back.

Here's one Ellen Allien was cranking out on her FB livestream the other night. I could certainly live without the Matrix sample, but otherwise it's like the last 25 years never happened:

Amazing. Sensing some 90s vibes here in Canada too, although BPM still lags a bit:

Maybe it's a trend
