Rap "music" caused the downfall of America. Its probably one of the most dispicable things ever.
Asking a rap fan why they like this music is like asking a Christian for evidence of god.
Dumbfounding.

Originally posted by OrangestO Downfall from what exactly? The birth and building of the US involved the genocide of Native Americans and the enslavement of Africans. What glorious golden era of freedom, liberties and prosperity for all are you implying we fell from? That's not what you're implying though, are you? Rap is one of the most explicit and insightful expressions of freedom of speech. Are you blaming Grandmaster Flash for delivering the message or NWA for not standing down and being silenced to exercise that right? Maybe you should direct your anger at the white executives who packaged and sold the product to mainstream America and got filthy rich. Just like when they stole music from black artists and cheated them out of their royalties earlier in the century. You don't think the US is still a cotton plantation for black Americans? Albeit disguised. If you're a hip hop purist and feel rap music is well past its heyday, I'm with you. But something tells me you're not. If you find rap music demoralizing, don't blame the player. Take a course in American history (listen to the video below first) and blame the game. Is it? What's dumbfounding is this statement. You're obviously a white guy who can't sympathize with the black experience in America. It's sad there are still so many of you assholes out there. Why does anyone like the music they listen to? It makes you feel connected and inspires you. When you live in the hood, it gives you hope that you can also make it out one day. Rap music has bridged many gaps in America. It's given a voice to the voiceless. On that note: And on a lighter note: |

Slow grooves are more wheelchair accessible.
I don't really like rap, but I love this one, maybe it just reminded me a bit of KLF:
