#1 DJ from 1997-2020

The highest american finish is Danny Tenaglia in 2001...

Posted by Sykonee on Nov-22-2020 18:02:

You can really tell when the Dutch votes started out-pacing the UK votes.

/Armin Top 5 since 2002 is kinda' impressive tho'

Posted by Mr Game+Watch on Dec-01-2020 17:37:

It's crazy how some of those top 5 names now won't even make top 100. (yeah, I know the poll is a joke but it's still strange)

Also, am I the only one who is not familiar with Alok? Never heard of that name before today. Or is it something where one heavily populated nation rallies around their most famous DJ export, inflating the numbers (see: Bobina's popularity in the mid 2000s)?

Ishkur said trance started getting backlash from the fans in '97 so I guess things were shifting that year

Alternative Top 100 DJs

"combining actual votes with beatport sales"

So, still nothing to do with actual DJ talent, but how good of a producer you are. Just without the overwhelming Dutch vote influence.

/just kidding ...kinda'
//list looks more like RA's abandoned poll
///do we do threes here?

Did you suffer a debilitating wrist injury whilst trying to copy the first 25 names on the list?

At least that one looks like a reasonable reflection of actual club bookings, whereas the "official" list is rammed full of baffling names I genuinely haven't ever seen on a line-up.

Switch the positions of Carl Cox and Dixon, and yeah, that'd pretty much be an RA list.

/can totally see Charolotte de Witte dethroning Dixon

Posted by planetaryplayer on Dec-07-2020 00:41:

Although his music is a complete joke, he is the most popular brazillian dj for sure, at least across brazillians. Also, Brazil population is huge, so this probably impacted the poll badly.

edit: on the other hand, I never heard of `marshimello` what the heck
