Question Walsh & Coutre - what style is this ... and is there similar ?

Hello everybody

I recently dig Walsh & Coutre a very big time (it's Chris Walsh & Jeremy Coutre) ... did a search for them on here, found them in a few track lists, but other than that = not very much. Atmos played a track of them in one set (which he apparently got recommended by Dnox & Beckers OR vice versa - because they have that one on one of their mixed releases), that's why I found out about them "Walsh & Coutre".

I think they're hugely underrated.

they give me this vibe of a "set closing track" ... you danced your ass off, it's all fine and good, you are mellowed out and have this strange kind of peace in you ... these tracks invoke just that feeling in me...

What style is this? Progressive Trance?

Can you ppl recommend me something similar?

Here are a few tracks:

Good choice mate, that track is a Burner

Although Walsh & Coutre is pretty underrated in general ... as also this thread proves.

Mid-2000s prog with a mild electro touch, as was the style of the time. Some of the DJs and labels mentioned suggest a mild connection to the 2000s prog-psy scene, which was also having an unfortunate electro infatuation around that time.

Yes indeed ... "super indeed" actually, because I am coming from the psy side

Now I am a huge fan of proper OLD progressive psytrance and I think you are aswell - but if you already call that electro infatuation "unfortunate", I suggest taking a listen to what's going on in that scene nowadays ... to me it has become all Neelix / Symphonix bubblegum style ... not to disrespect aritsts, but why a whole genre ditched itself so completely and transformed into this is beyond me - unfathomable!

However indeed, in that drawer there are more similarities to that Walsh & Coutre than in classic progressive trance...

Monster track. It really takes off in the second half.

This one came later in 2007 but another one I used to play. Hard to find a good sample. https://www.beatport.com/track/cape...eat-none/397979

Still like Burn the best though.
