The best artist albums
This is not the most original thread but I just wanted to say Darude made uplifting trance sound cool, pumping, and exhilarating for his first 2 albums.

Stand-out thread, Matt.
Darude deserves to be remembered for more than just a meme song. A lot of artists have a hit song and then have a bunch of throw-in songs on their albums, but he deserves credit for making albums that were consistently good (even if it's true someone co-produced it). I wish some of the the tracks on the albums were pressed on vinyl.
Some of my favs:
Johan Gielen Revelations
Satoshi Tomiie Full Lick
Paul van Dyk Out There And Back
Armin Van Buuren - 76
Eelke Kleijn Naturally Artificial
Robbie Rivera - First
Mark Knight - Untold Business...best album of 2021
Both Cubicolor albums are pretty fantastic.
Sasha - Airdrawndagger
Boards Of Canada - Tommorrows Harvest
BT - This Binary Universe
just to name a few
Revelations has to be one of the best albums of 2006 across any genre. I will definitely get through the rest

Leafar Legov's Mirror is one of the best I've listened to in the last few years.
He's an artist. It's an album. You should hear it.

It was never cool to like trance. Even so, there are a few great artist albums in the genre, none of which have been mentioned in this thread.

In the spirit of trying to make another Mattsanity thread useful, here are ten trance(y) albums I consider genuinely good as a proper album listening experience, even if a couple veer towards progressive house:
BT - Ima
Paul Van Dyk - Seven Ways
Chicane - Far From The Maddening Crowd
LSG - Volume 2
Way Out West - Way Out West
Blue Amazon - The Javelin
Blue Planet Corporation - Blue Planet
The Auranaut - People Want To Be Needed (The Album)
12 Moons - Solid State
Cosmithex - Visions Of Sound
Nome of these albums are remotely "cool", but at least no one can accuse me of anti-trance snobbery now.
LSG- Into Deep might easily be one of the greatest artist albums of all time.
Each track is stand-alone special, but the narrative flow of the album just makes the whole thing overwhelmingly good.
Yep, that's better than Volume 2, but I didn't bother mentioning any "listening" albums in case I upset Matt.

If anything Matt cannot be accused of not staying true to himself.
Not trance, but Ulrich Schnauss - Goodbye.
One my my favourite artist albums, ever.
And yes, of course, Chicane FFTMC and BTS

Cass & Slide - Burning The Candle at Both Ends
Sonic Animation - Orchid For The Afterworld
Some of my fave artist albums from the past - tbh I'm more of a mix CD guy than an artist album when it comes to electronic music:
Tiesto - In My Memory
The Orb -UFOrb
Sasha - Airdrawndagger
Paul Van Dyk - Out There And Back
Above and Beyond - Tri State
Underworld - Beaucoup Fish
Tiger and Woods - Through the Green
Ulrich Schnauss - Goodbye
Luomo - Paper Tigers
No one even mentioned the best one.
