Thanks! I first heard it live about two months ago and have been trying to find it since. I checked his Youtube days before that was posted and saw nothing so headed over here

Think they could've done better with the video but the synchronicity is on point:

"A middle aged man living a depressed mundane life, has visions of returning to his past Club Kid days at the legendary Limelight Club in 1993. But was any of it real?"

...finished reading Peter Gatien's Club King last month talking about Limelight, etc. Book was not that great but had some interesting parts

I find Maceo Plex so hard to classify. The sound of his music is absolutely world class. I would even go as far as label him as the most talented producer of our times (or at least the last decade). I think he has single handedly changed the sound of modern techno to be more melodic and "sparse" and has opened the gates for the likes of Tale Of Us, Adriatique, etc.

At the same time, his music is so hit and miss for me. While I absolutely adore some of his releases, others are totally "meh". The title track of this thread "Revision" just isn't musically interesting or energizing to me at all. On the other hand, his remix for Insomnia is awesome (especially the dub mix without the iconic pizzicato), "When the lights are out" is a beautiful Twin Peaks'esque number, nothing hits as hard as "Conjure Balearia". And at other times, he can be just... boring!
