Klik Records

I'm sure Klick Records has been discussed here before and most of you know it. Or do you? I only recently heard of it after finding a few of their releases on CD in a bargain bin at a music shop in Athens. Found Dousk D.I.Y. for a fiver (what a great album and steal!) and ION No Camera. Super smooth progressive. I absolutely love it. They have nearly a few hundred releases in their catalog that I'm sifting through.

Does anyone have any favorites/recommendations?

Dang, I got that off the Discogs Marketplace for twice that. Well, maybe triple, if you include shipping from Aussie.

Not really prog at all, but Acropod - Tales Beyond The Unknown is sublime Deep Space Organisms-styled atmospherics. Would love to know how that album came into being.

Got most of the releases from Kliks first five years (2003 to 2008ish) and selected picks from later years. Depending on the artist, the styles and themes of the albums vary quite wildly from summery house through some mellow downtempo, synthpop, ambient and breaks to deeper prog and tech house and whatever fits in between.

For melodic prog, B.I.G. - Mindscapes is excellent. For more tech house direction, Hitoshi Watanabes albums, including his brilliant self titled compilation of stuff from his various guises.

Some of their early releases feature a bit shoddy mastering, loads of tracks clipping.

Holy cow, GrimReaper returns from the...

no, wait, that's too obvious a 'welcome back', isn't it?

Yup, been away for quite some years, following the scene only superficially. I hope my return will be worth it.

Welcome back, Grim! Long time no see. Definitely agree about the mastering, I think I mentioned as much in my review of that Acropod album over on Discogs.

Thanks Jack. Yeah was listening to a few Klik releases not long ago and felt quite annoyed about the rather harsh mastering at times when the music itself was so smooth and deep, several tracks featuring digital glitches, clicks and pops and peaks constantly clipping.. Back in the day I did make my own fixed versions of them but have since stored most if not all the CDrs away.
