Jack Moss - Live @ Kibosh v6 19.02.22 [Peak Time]
For those who have been napping at the back of class, since moving to Manchester I've secured a residency at the monthly night called Kibosh which is held upstairs at the Dulcimer in Chorlton. I won't be sharing every live set I play there, but I did manage to hit Record on February's set where I played for only an hour in the middle of the night. With not much wiggle room I stuck to a peak time, anthemic vibe pretty much all the way through, with a few early '90s Renaissance classics thrown in for good measure.
I'll be back there on the 29th April in the same slot with a slightly longer set, so I'm sharing this now even though my Accelerate set is still on the front page as a bit of promotion for the night:
Having been at this night in person I can confirm that this is an excellent peak time set
The warm up act were playing some really good disco inspired tunes but there was really nobody up and dancing which was a shame. About 15 mins before you started a load of punters had just shown up but were all having a drink at the bar. Donna Summer was an excellent choice for an opener - a few girls recognised it and started dancing, and then all the blokes followed. This turned the night into a success (from what might have been a bit of a disappointment)
Great to hear that Gnork remix on a decent system - that's such a great tune
But of course, the big stone wallers were what really made it. My tune of the night was definately Sublime - which I've not (knowingly) heard out before, but it was every bit as good as I expected
I also liked that remix of 'At Night' at the end - so much so that I poached it and played it at a house party on Saturday, with excellent results
Top banana
Listened to this while doing yard work the other day. Pretty straightforward (in a good way) with some nice solid tunes. Mixing was nice for a live set, and I enjoyed hearing more layered polyrhythms as the set progressed. Nothing really jumped out to me this time, but just a well constructed set for a night that I'm sure I would have enjoyed live.
Cheers mate. The only mixing issue I'm unhappy with listening back is I caught the loop going out of the first track halfway through a "whoosh", which I didn't hear live but is pretty obvious listening back.
