You may find that DuMonde won't be willing to tell you what they use to make that sound. The whole professional secracy and everything.

if they do that then they are just stupid, cos its not the synth that counts its the person behind it... if they tell u what they use it doesnt mean that u will be able to make that sound, anyway theyr sound is not so clean, there are some parts in theyr tracks that just get u out of the trance u were in, like suddenly ur out of everything... if anyone knows what i mean...

@Vortex_SA

No, actually we are not stupid. We already had an equipment list of our studio on our homepage, but then we changed it's whole structure and now the list is still not online but some studio pictures...shame on us.

And we have no problems to tell everybody which synthesizers we use. The guys are right, most of the sounds are from the Waldorf "Q" and "Micro Q", but also from the "Microwave I", the "Microwave XT" and "Pulse+"...

I hope that helped you a bit

hehe why not check the tips that we have posted here already....in my opinion there's enough in here to bring a newbie well into production

don't always go on what other people say....you have to break new grounds if you ever want to be someone in the biz....for ex. i can't think of anyone else that sounds like rank 1 or armin or dumonde....

as long as you can handle your sequencer and your synths well it's yourself it depends on....it's what you do with the sequencer and the synths

heh, i know man, mayb they had some nice trixx which weren`t posted before.. i`m producing pretty long myself also so

Posted by Vizay on Nov-18-2002 17:42:

hehe kind of figured that mantis....and of course your right,,,they might have something we haven't mentioned yet...it's just up to them to write it or not (if they know something we don't that is )

btw it seems like more people read theese nonsticky threads so check the exploration of sound thread....have a new unanswered question there now

Posted by dj dimwit on Nov-20-2002 11:09:

Anyone knows if the softsynth Waldorf PPG is capable of the same sound as the Waldorf synths Dumonde use? I happen to have the Waldorf PPG but haven't been able to get a decent sound out of it But if it can create Dumonde sounds.... wow I'm gonna try again!
Thanx!

It's not even close!! o_O

Posted by Vizay on Nov-20-2002 19:17:

uhhm the waldorf PPG is a softversion of the waldorf PPG synth if I'm not misstaken

the one's dumonde used was Q and microwave...it's like trying to get the same sound from a novation basstation and a supernova......doesn't work just because they are of the same brand
