Last trance classic?
What was the last trance record released you consider to be a classic? I mean a classic along the lines of Cafe Del Mar, Greece 2000, Netherworld, etc. I'd say Insigma - Open Your Eyes from 2001. Maybe I'm being too harsh but really can't think of anything with a classic status since. I know Motorcycle/Andain/Southern Sun were popular in 2002 but consider those as too commercial. Requiem For a Dream was pretty awesome but did it ever reach classic status? And I know there was some good trance around from 2002 - 2006, after which the scene really went down the toilet, but again nothing springs to mind.
I would say the last classic of the superclub trance era was Reflekt - Need To Feel Love from 2004. It still had the production values of something from 1999. Everything after that point was getting so polished, twinkled and sidechained it just sounded like a different style.

This is probably one of the last of the eurotrance anthems I can immediately recall off the top of my head. Yeah, it's got most of the cliches of the mid-'00s era (twinkle melody, choppy vocal, sidechained rhythm), but at least it all comes together in a winning, memorable manner. Is it enough to deem it a Proper Classic though? For anyone getting into trance in this time period, I'd assume so.
^Jumping on the AB train.
Glad I picked this one up a few years ago. Prices are absolutely outrageous for it now.

if this is a personal choice then for me its Monogato - Miami Vibe (Omnia Remix)
sooper powertrack from the noom classic played by Dave Angel! nearly had heart attack on dancefloor when i first heard. had to be taken to hospital after fearing and defecated at end of night.
Shockingly, that is a decent question. I'm going to go with the 2004 hit from Solid Globe, 'Sahara.'

This is the most recent trance classic in my book

Maybe Johan Gielen - Magnitude (2006).
This is a pretty interesting question, actually. Especially since so many of us were into trance during the late 90s era (and some even before), but have splintered off into other genres.
The stuff I'm gonna share below is definitely not most people's cup of tea, but is still arguably trance, and are memorable for better or worse:
And a bit older than some of the others I've shared (2007), but this is one of the last "classic" trance songs that I fell in love with:
I'm going with either one of these 2....
