Next Party You're Attending
Wuddup West Coasters!!
Party Animal still here. No longer 72Hr though... More like PukeyAnimal.
Just wanted to see what parties you guys are looking forward to soon?
We had originally purchased presales for this Ame/Dixon party @ Cabrillo Beach (los angeles area) on 3/25/2023. Due babysitter issues, we may not be able to attend though. It's a bit of far drive (expensive uber) as well. We'll play it by ear.

Next party is Solomun at Exposition Park (downtown LA)

I also saw All Day I Dream at Pershing Square (downtown LA) that looked interesting. ADID used to be our thing! Got a little boring over the years but I think it'd be fund checking out the lovable Burridge again.

What else should we keep an eye on?
Coachella, both weekends, is the next*. We just saw Stelar Parov and I saw Wax tailor the day before. Last month we caught Hessel audio (Ben ufo, Pangea, Pearson sound).
*Richie hawtin is playing at a tba this thursday. Havent made a decision on that
I might check out Sebastien Leger live at 1720 end of the month
Vintage Culture at Sound on April 18!! can't wait!!

| Originally posted by jonmitz Yeah. We ended up going to two shows, both last minute. First was Saint Sinner (the Tycho singer) and Gone Gone Beyond, and then we drove across the city to the Richie Hawtin warehouse show. It was at a salsa club, very warehousy. The vibes at that show were off the charts, while at our first show it was a bunch of shitty hipster losers (the sad reality of The Indepdent). Were about to leave for Joshua Tree this Sunday, and then were going to do both weekends of Coachella. |
@72hrpartyanimal - you're still here old man?

I'm feeling lazy guys. I don't think I'm in the mood to check out Solomun tomorrow night. According to Gina's FB page, none of our friends will be there. I think it's going to be a bunch of young people we don't know.
Going to this! Tickets sell today at noon

Looks like we'll be attending Boris Brejcha on Labor Day Weekend at Grand Park. I've only listened to a little bit of his music to see what he sounds like. Not normally my cup of tea but attending to celebrate a friends birthday.

Last minute decision to attend Green Velvet part this weekend as well. Babysitter confirmed. The wife wanted a date night. I was hoping we'd go out for burritos but I guess she wanted to dance.
LaLa Land event was a lot of fun. Music was fun and had us dancing all night. Nothing that would melt your brain but simply fun house, tech-house music.
So the Boris event was fun. I was surprised by his music and especially his opening DJ, Anne Clue. She did a GREAT job of transitioning out of the crap the previous live act was playing into some really mellow material and built it up perfectly for Boris.
When people describe Boris, they say he's "progressive". The little I heard of him sounded like early (pre-Dutch) trance. I have to say it was pretty good. A little trancy at times but nothing overwhelming but a good amount of techno-ish sounds coming out.
Overall, I'd say I would check out another Boris event. Not for a long time though. As a matter of fact, no events for quite a long time. I'm too old for this shit. My body was aching all day on Monday and most of Tuesday.
