Didn't we have a thread about MBTI types? (Those Myers–Briggs Thingies)

Am I misremembering things and had a very livid dream, or did we use to have an MBTI thread around here somewhere and all traces of it ever existing vanished overnight?

I know the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator is not exactly the most scientific indicator out there and even have a vague feeling my types even changed over a couple of months and brushed it off at the time. However, because I've been hanging around Koreans a lot lately and they're crazy about the stuff, I came back here to check the results and there's no sign it ever existed.

Anyway, I took one test once again on 16 Personality Types and got ENFP (which they call "The Campaigner"), which is unsurprisingly the Ted Lasso of personality types, although the F in it is close to a toss-up and could've easily been an ENTP instead.

How about you guys?

Edit: Eventually tweaked the results a bit, read up on ENTP and that's what I used to be like as a kid, but mellowed out over time.

My partner tested me 4x and years apart and I always end up as architect. I think it’s because I am the architect of the matrix

It says I'm INTP. I think I'll try the ENTJ playthrough next time.

If I've learned one thing from readimg through the entire pictars thread this past week, it's that I've already shared plenty enough information about my personality here over the years.

I always come out as ENTP, "The Debator", which will surprise absolutely no one. I think the information it gives you is specific enough for the test to clearly not be mere astrology, but I also remember briefly dating a girl who was also an ENTP and liked banging on about it, and her personality was nothing like mine, so I also think it's far from the complete picture.

Please tell me you guys had a debate about who was the real ENTP, hehe.

But, yeah, it's probably not much better than astrology accuracy wise, but it's kind of a fun ice-breaker... much like astrology wishes it was

You're right, now that you mention it, and I think that applies to most of us here. After a couple of decades, unlike some of the social media sites that have been discontinued or simply forgotten, I think this is probably the one place where people can find out the most about us without logging in.

I think it's a lot more accurate than astrology, actually. For a start, it draws its conclusions from specific answers you give it, rather simply the random period on the calendar you happened to be born in, so it would be very disappointing if it wasn't at least somewhat accurate. And some of its insights into my personality type were a useful way of looking at my own behaviour. But some people (like this girl) seem to love bringing it up as if it's an integral part of understanding them. I see so many comments on Reddit or wherever that begin with "As an ISJF etc, I..." From my brief time on dating apps I seem to remember it cropping up there a lot as well. Imagine having a paragraph to sell yourself to someone and choosing this. Better than holding a dead fish, I suppose.

I have shark blood. You better be careful you corn munching fat ass

Did one for a startup I used to work for years back and thought it was spot on and insightful. Not that anyone cares, but I'm an INFP.

Lira - I did a search and this is the first thread with MBTI in the title (wild!). There was this one from 2007 about it though with Jungian in the title

So, I learned about MBTI in the mid 2000s and it was something I wished I knew existed when I was a teen, I would've felt less weird . MBTI can be useful if you get strong results on all 4 parameters but if you're on the border for 2 or more then it's kind of flaky.

For those curious I'm IxTJ (INTJ/ISTJ - Architect/Logistician).

I rank personality systems in this order:

1) Big 5 (Free test)

OCEAN:

Openness - How open a person is to new ideas and experiences

Conscientiousness - How goal-directed, persistent, and organized a person is

Extraversion - How much a person is energized by the outside world

Agreeableness - How much a person puts others' interests and needs ahead of their own

Neuroticism - How sensitive a person is to stress and negative emotional triggers

2) Enneagram (Free Test)

The Enneagram personality system is a comprehensive model that describes nine distinct personality types, each characterized by specific core motivations, fears, desires, and habitual patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. These nine types are often illustrated within a circular diagram, with lines connecting them to show the dynamic ways in which people can shift between different states under varying circumstances, such as stress or growth.

Each type in the Enneagram is assigned a number (1 through 9) and a descriptive name, such as the Reformer, the Helper, the Achiever, the Individualist, the Investigator, the Loyalist, the Enthusiast, the Challenger, and the Peacemaker. These types are not rigid boxes but fluid categories that people can move within, showing different aspects of their personality in different contexts.

The Enneagram also incorporates three centers of intelligence: the head (thinking), the heart (feeling), and the gut (instinctive), which influence how each type perceives and interacts with the world. For instance, types 5, 6, and 7 are primarily driven by their thoughts and concerns about security and fear; types 2, 3, and 4 are more driven by their emotions and issues around identity and worth; while types 8, 9, and 1 are more influenced by their instincts and issues around control and anger.

...also it has varying 'health' levels so a certain type under stress might behave more like another one.

3) MBTI (Free Test)

There is not enough degeneracy in these tests to be applicable to myself. fuck this rainbow shit.

Lol, I'm an ENTJ. THE COMMANDER.

The little graphic is some bitchy looking lady pointing a stick rather assertively.

bit of a disservice to call the rawrfsst machine a mere clit, imo.

Ugh. MBTI is so unscientific. Use the big 5 instead.
