Read This! Melbourne - Earthcore - New Venue - Volcano Crater - 30th November 2002

Earthcore 30th November venue change official!!

Due to the current drought and severe fire risk our usual venue at Mount Disappointment
has been declared too dangerous to host the upcoming event by the
Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the CFA.

The event will now be held in the crater of a volcano west of Melbourne.
Fear not, this incredible natural feature is completely extinct and
Earthcore guarantees there will be no molten lava on the dancefloor!!

We apologise for any inconvenience but trust you understand we have extremely good reasons for doing this.

The possibility of a move has been included in our planning for the last 4 months meaning the change
of venue will in no way impact on the quality of the event. All advertised acts will be playing, all shenanigans
and tacky stunts are confirmed and the parking will definitely be less tragic. All necessary permits in place.

Take the Western Highway (M8) west towards Ballarat. Take the first Ballarat exit, bypassing the town, following signs towards Hamilton onto the Glenelg Highway (B160). Continue along this highway passing through Smythesdale, Scarsdale, Skipton then Streatham. At the far end of Streatham turn right towards the Grampians on the Rossbridge-Streatham Rd (C182). Approximately 12km further on, veer right at the crossroads to Mininera and Tatyoon. Make no turns and keep an eye out for Checkpoint One which will be on your left in approximately 6km. Beware of slow moving local traffic!
The volcanic crater is approximately 1/2 hour west of Ballarat.

So Who is going? more details here

I'm going for Andreas Krmer and James Holden

Posted by discitelli on Nov-16-2002 06:15:

geezs this is news to me! i never knew there was a possibiity of earthcore being moved from Mt. Dissapoinment. Thats kind of dissapointing! Nevermind! It seems the sensible decision with the drought and all. James Holden is still playing so thats what matters, and the idea of having it in an extint volcano sounds preety cool.

I'll still be there with bells on!
