Unhappy

Man..I envy you guys!! I live here in Michigan, USA and there is absolutely nothing to do. Hardly anyone comes around to spin for us and it's very disappointing!! The only one that came was Oakie and I loved his sets, however I really want to see Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, and PVD spin. The worst part about it is that I live near Detroit and that's where techno originally started...too bad it didn't stay around

I know...I'm so jealous it kinda pisses me off how some of these guys can be so critical over some of these guys sets. I can't even imagine seeing van dyk one day and carl cox the next. You guys get to see great djs like these all the time and maybe even on the same night. Anyway, maybe the dj's will get tired of the scene over there, like oakey supposedly did, and then come over here to the U.S. for a couple years...I can dream can't I

lucky europeans

yea ill agree with this post... europeans are friggin lucky... i live in pennsylvania with the closest city being philly which is 1.5 hours away... philly is lucky to get big names (i did get to see pvd there last may... prob the last time he'll ever fuckin be in philly)... and im going to see dave ralph there tonight, but these are rare occurances... i usually end up driving to club glow in dc to see big names as of recent (saw atb, tiesto, edgar v)... and when im 19 im sure ill be there a lot more often (buzz at nation=pvd, oakey, etc)

nyc is about the same distance as dc so i will probably be there a lot this summer

nyc is about as good as it gets on the east coast and its still nothing compared to freaking europe

i need to move there :P

Well guys in the US, don't worry too much, exept for the techno/trance scene, Europe is not that great !
You can feel lucky to live in the US for many other reasons, believe me !

There's no perfect place anyway..
We should create some trance island right in the middle of the Antlantic ocean, hehe

hey guys, europe aint that great, sure we have a lot of great technopartys, but do you have any idea much you will pay for an car in denmark, ive got a 12 year old mitsubishi mirage/colt=5000 dollars 210000 km on the clock ?? and fuel, 1 dollar per liter ??

Posted by j_spot on May-17-2001 10:25:

Europeans r lucky, for sure, but in comparison, so are Calgarians. We had Gatecrasher last summer, Slinky twice, Max Graham I dont know how many times(bout 5), Seb Fontaine, Judge Jules, Paul Oakenfold, Christopher Lawrence, Dj Daria, Diesel Boy, Nick Warren is comin on sunday, Aquagen, Darude(ooooh), Voodoo and Serano and this is all since Sept(except for Gatecrahser, but they are comin again) oh and Mark EG was here a few weeks ago...so yeah...Its not hurtin here. Europe would be nice, but im not gonna complain.

Posted by PitHH on May-17-2001 21:56:

yeah i guess we do kinda take it for granted that we've got all the best dj's holdin residency to our clubs!it does get too much tho...bein spoiled for choice of wherther to see mauro picotto one week and tiesto the next..goin to festivals that r right on r doorstep that hold 50,000 people and 50 of the worlds finest dj's.....where is my point?....sorry...actually i do feel for you guyz...if you love trance that much then there really is only one place to go in the world that will fill all your trance desires.....IBIZA!!!!!!!!!

Well I live in Mexico and taxes are just too many i pay for my car, my house, my food (taxes eh?) and a lot of shit some of you guys won't believe, plus that the scene is growing yes, i've seen PVD, Oakenfold, Sasha, etc. but it's too friggin' expensive. So i'd still go and live in Europe, or at least to Canada the scene is so nice and the friends i got from Canada tell me it's so cool .
So i guess we all have some disadvantages
