Buying used DJM600, What to Look for?
I am going to buy a used DJM600 mixer and I am wondering if any of you know what to look for(problems with the mixer)
It's a pretty solid machine so it should be okay, but things to check for would include:
- Cross Fader (does it bleed)
- Channel Faders (do they all work correctly)
- Do all the cue buttons work
- Do all the eq's work
- Do the cross fader assign nobs work
- does the cross fader curve switch change the curves
- does the split cue work
- does the cue fader work
- does the cue volume work
- do all the eq's work (they cut a long way)
- do all the led's work
- check that all the effects work properly
- check that the sampler works, as well as the cross fader assign for the sampler
- if you're using cdjs, check that the fader start function works
- when you press the buttons under the second led display (% bpm msec), does it change the number and does that have an affect on the effects and sampler. It should.
- when you turn the ch. select dial, the orange lights should change to indicate the channel selected for the effects.
- does the booth level nob work
- doee the master balance dial work.
- check that all the connections on the back work properly and that they are not damaged in any way.
- turn the "master level att" screw at the back and see make sure that it has an effect on the volume.
- make sure that all the channel select swithces at the top work.
- if you have a mic, check that it all works okay.
- see if the "talk over" button decreases the main out volume.
- does the mono/stereo switch change it from mono to stereo
- FINALLY, and most importantly, make sure that the sound quality coming out of it is okay, inclusing the headphones sound. Put some records on obviously to test all the above things.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head
Thanx man!
