Need new headphones....got 2 on mind
The Sony MDR-V700DJ that i had for about a year and half broke today....ahhh 100$ down the drain so i need a new heaphone that will last me and better in quality of the sound.
So after reading the heaphone sticky thread and asking friends i have narrowed it down to 2 choices
Technics RP-DJ1200A(100$) or Sony MDR V6(70$)
so which do you guys prefer i get?
i like the technics better in the looks department so i am planing on getting that , but i havent used them so any personal expirences with them/reviews would be very helpful
thank you
Taub...I have the technics 1200 headphones and I love them!! they have great sound and they cancel out alot and I mean alot of the outside sound...I would say deffinently get them!!

I don't have experience with the Technics, so I can't comment on those, though I have heard good things about them.
The v6's, on the other hand, I can talk about.
All I'll say is that if you get those, you won't be disappointed. Though you might prefer the Technics - I'm not sure in your case.
Browse through the huge Headphones thread that's sticky, above, you'll find lots of useful information.
I would recommend you go with the Technics 1200a. I use the Sony MDR-7506.... Although it does work for djing (many headphones will), I still think its too flat for djing, and a bit bright when at loud volumes. I cant support having these too loud for too much time, cause the highs just hurt my ears. I never had that problem with the 700DJs.
The v6/mdr7506 are really studio headphones.
When I have to buy new headphones, I will go with the Technics 1200A
I have the Technics and they are absolutely awesome!! They can get a little warm on your ears but its bearable.
I used to own the Sony 700's and mine also broke
Seriously,,, get the new PIONEER HDJ 1000. They're a little bit expensive but I think they sound better than the technincs and the sony. Just my opinion though.
peace.
I've had my sony 700's for 2 years, the only thing I ever had a problem with is when some drunk asshole broke off the jack inside the mixer. So I bought a new pair, took out the new ones, put the old ones in the box...hehehe....and returned them and got my money back and a new set of headphones
. But other than that I've never had a problem!

Am I the only person in the world that thinks Sennheiser rule the roost when it comes to headphones. I have yet to hear a set which can produce such clear tones and also stand up well at mega high volume.
Not a lot of people here have *tried* the Sennheiser HD25... they are quite expensive if you aren't in Europe.

just incase you haven't seen them, new pioneers are out the HDJ-1000 and are definetly worth a look if you have $150 to blow on them!
get the technics, they're all good.
I've read a few reviews that the sound quality of the new Pioneer's aren't as good as the Technics or V6's/7506. Gluegun has the link to where a guy has reviewed them all...
The Technics are less likely to break than any of the Sony's as it does have a very strong structure.. and if you do opt for them the silver 1210's are better because of less plastuc and more metal..!
The cups are also smaller then usual, but if it suits you then go for it! I say that if you want sound quality, Sony V6/7506, strutcure and blockage and loudness, the Technics

Uh, yea, the V700DJ's can suck without somene trying them by the reason that they are sooooo prone to breaking..
BTW, has anyone tried the Ultrasone HFI-650, available from www.meier-audio.com ???
yeah.. Gluegun who just said that is dead on correct (even though i sometimes use them to looking good rather than my HD-280's!)
And also, the Playstation rules, so no more crap for Sony Entertainment!!

ok then...
IMHO most of the products from Sony Electronics - and especially SonyStyle - are craptacular. You see, Sony itself has so many divisions that it's embarrassing to keep track of all of them.
