who can give me car help?

I'm totally screwed.

I have a '91 Ford Mustang (aka "the Rustang"), & there's something wrong with the electrical system. I installed a new deck & since then my whole electrical system in the car is messed up. The fuse for my odometer light keeps blowing, & when I put a new one in the lights work but the deck won't turn on. But if I turn on the dome light then the fuse goes out and the deck works again. My main concern is not the odometer light, but also my tail lights go out when this happens. I know I did something wrong with the deck, but I don't really know how to fix it. If someone has access to a wiring diagram for my car please let me know. This is very urgent as I almost got a ticket for no tail lights 2nite, and I can't afford to go to the mechanic to fix it. So anybody, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

You can get a wiring diagram inside a chiltons for your car.. Just get one out of the library, so you don't have to buy it... Wiring diagrams aren't always that much help though, even once you've figured out how to read them...

My guess from your description, is that something is shorting out, and since all you did was install a stereo, try taking it out, and see if that fixes the problem... You may have something grounding where it shouldn't...

I forgot to mention, the constant power wire for my deck blew so I just used a tester and hooked up the deck to a different wire that was just there for no apparent reason (there's 2 extra wires that have never been hooked up to anything). So I have my 8 wires that hook up for the speakers, 1 ground (black), and 1 power wire (yellow) hooked up correctly which leaves 3 more wires hanging from my car. The constant power source is blown so I tested the other 2 & there's power going through them. I hooked up the constant (red) from the deck to one of them (orange) and now I have 1 extra live wire just sitting there.

If there's any advice I can give you, DON'T EVER BUY FORD!

haha i see im a little late, but its all true, unless you have a new one or some rediculous hook up youre paying out the ass for the vehicle|

To me it sounds like there's a problem with your grounding. Try grounding the system direct to chassis or battery. That should help.

I got it fixed. My manager used to install car systems for a living. The problem was that the ground wire is RED and the power wire is GREY. wtf?? neways, it works now. thanks for all ur help.
