OK if uve read the thread about it in music discussion, u will know simcut has had it harsh (to say the least) recently.

I thought it would be a nice gesture if somehow (this is where we need to get our heads together) we can get a fund up for a new mixer + needle for him.. i know it soundz mad, but theres 3000 odd of us now, so between us im sure we can manage it with small donations Can prolly get a decent mixer for �50 - �100 easily...

if enough ppl are up for it then we need to join brains on how to go about it

i dont know how we could do that...since i live in the US and all. i would definately donate some money. geesh if every trance addict donated like $5 he could live off that for a while. its not much to ask really. even 1$...its just the matter of how to go about doing it. thats a little tougher

with people having so many different currencies and mailing accross the world i dont know if mailing it would be possibile or else you could do that. have a central location where people could send money to. like a fund. for a good cause )

awesome idea tuface. i'd love to to chip in some dough for good ol' sim. that guy's done so much for this place.

I would check out www.paypal.com maybe that would work.

HOWEVER.. this is what i think:
I am sure that there are at least 20 ppl in here livin in the UK so that makes it easier.. if each one of us gives 5squid that brings up about 100.
I am ready even at this very sec. I havent been around for long but I know Sim and am willing to help. UK ppl.. let's get one thing sorted now.. post in and let us help our buddy.

I'm in Canada but i would definitely like to help the brother out...there's gotta be someway. Even if I sent him Canadian funds, I"m sure he wouldn't mind transferring it over to pounds/squid or whatever. If anyone comes up with some idea, let me know.
I could do the money order thing or send a cheque, I have a credit card or whatever.

If we can somehow get his address, I'd just mail him a check or money order.

why don't all peepz in Canada send money to one guy.. he collects all funds from canada and send a check down to Sim?
it would be easier for transfering money WITHIN canada..
so once its all collected.. the guy who does so writes a check and send it.

I think its definately a nice gesture, but its not the right thing to do. If we really want to help him, we have to let him solve his own problems. That's part of growing as a person. It's not going to be easy for him, but hey that's life. Just like the quote from Stallone's new movie Driven: "We all fall down, it's just how fast we get up." I know Simcut will pull through this, and when he does, he'll be stronger than ever. We'll continue to be here for support, but I think the best thing for him right now is to stop dwelling on the problems and go out and fix them. Everyone thinks that just buying a mixer will solve the problem. It may make him happy for a short period of time, but let's face it, money can't buy happiness. He needs to look inside for that. Aight I'm gonna stop talking now. Go get em Simcut.

man we're not liek going to find a job for him or something..
all we're doing is try to get some money to buy him a new mixer and needles for his decks.

I am sure he is mature enuff to look after himself but we're only getting him a gift

besides, it's quite appropriate too in my opinion...sim can seriously spin a great set...and this guy does it JUST for us TAs...i think it's time we gave back a little...

I agree...why not help someone if u can?? if someone you know and respect is feeling down, u should try to do all that u can to help him/her get back on their feet. I know whenever I'm feeling shitty, any small gesture that makes me feel better helps me get through other problems. Its no use dwelling on a problem while dealing with other problems. U need to think with a clear conscience. By making small donations, Sim will feel good about the gesture, appreciate the help (we hope) and be able to tackle the bigger issues now that a smaller one is out of the way.

Anyhoo...whoever will collect the $$$ from us crazy canucks let me know and I'll get it to them somehow.

I hear all of you comin' up with some suggestions,but no real concrete answers,I think the easiest way to help him out is to send him the money ,through the old authentic(and yet still existing)mail,just put the money in an envelope and if simcut agrees,he could post his adress in thi sforum,and everybody(who wants) just send it too him,all rite you have got the additional stamp,but hey,what does that costs nowwa days!So simcut it's up to you.
But anyhow with all do respect,TA shouldn't become a sharity organization,I'm sure that Simcut isn't the only TA with financial probs

Other solution is(but there swamper will have to agree),take a few percentage (if that's possible) of the sale of the TA t-shirts,and donate it to simcut
