Review: Guy Ornadel @ Aria November 22nd

I just came back from Guy Ornadel, and I had a splendid night!
the guy rock the place for close to 4 hours.

I really enjoyed the songs he spinned, but there was a lot I didn't knew, so i'm looking foward of having a tracklist if possible...

for those I recognize:

Dj Snowman - And then they start to dance (Dumonde mix)
Umek - Gatex
Three Drives - Carrera 2
Gouryella - Ligaya (HIver & Hammer Remix???)

and maybe more if I can remember...

post your comments!

well back from aria. good night, trancy, i like it.

1rst, yaz, omg. he spun some great tracks. i though residents @ aria were always playing techno, i was wrong. im sorry. residents at aria were F^*%5 good yesterday.

as for ornadel, it was really good. good tracks. most of his mix were difficult and risky.. i mean, some dj are only mixing safely, but ornadel was always trying to impress us with his mixing skills and his mixing knowledge. it was very interesting to hear carrera play 5 minutes before been mixed to itself(sounds confusing, but hey, it was.)

the first part of his set was great, but i felt like the second part was a bit to artistic for me.. ex: ligaya was so strange.. pitching up down, i think it was the original mix(but completly messed up), but maybe was it the hiver and hammer one..

to much modifications is like not enough.

as for the tracklist im too confuse now(am i the only one who heard a remix of twisted !?!?!?!?)
. ill try to post some later. it was nice meeting you guys.

Tom Craft: Loneliness!

LOLO- MELODY
accadia- blind visions (? mix)
yes ligaya was the hiver and hammer mix for sure
dj tiesto- obsession

10/10 !

it was better than ever !

ornadel is the master of "what the %$?%$# is that track"
nobody compares to him!

i think i like him at least as much as ferrry and armin ! with more space to dance!

and btw there were a lot of beautiful girls yesterday !

Posted by RnakR on Nov-23-2002 19:43:

there were not a lot of TAs but you all missed something !
and you missed zing on the dance floor !
it was fun to talk to you , usally there's always a window between us

To tell you the truth, I think the Guy mixed a great set all in all, but it sure wasn't perfect. I heard him miss a build-up, and start it all over it again; it kinda slow down my fun. And there was a lack of smooth transition between tracks at some points. Like someone said, some mixes were risky so this can happen. But eh!, I guess it's not called Hard-Trance for nothing.

Crowd vibe? Felt young. But since I'm more acquainted with Saturdays, maybe it was a normal crowd for a usual Friday.

bon
je vien de me reveiller apres quelques heures de sommeil
encore une fois jai passer une nuit malade
thumb up for guy ornadel
at the begining of his set i said to me damn hes not working with the crowd but as the night continued he began to dance and work with the crowd!!!!
jai bien aime son set car il a commencer bien smooth et fini bien hard

meilleur moments de la soire
1 - umek - gatex
2 - three drives carrera 2
3 - and then they started to dance
4 - ligaya ( hiver & hammer)

et pleins dautres tounes qui me disait de quoi mais que jai jamais pu trouver le nom

j-f tu a raison cest le maitre du wut is that *&%&? track
and i also like when he raised the pitch!!!! insane
ca t nice de vous voir
rnakr et malek

Biggy ... i had a problem

First, like i said before GUY ORNADEL is a great man. Nothing to add on the previous posts. it was a wonderfull night for me.

But at a time one of ARIA's guys took my lights and said that i cannot have them @ ARIA. It's been 11 months that i go to ARIA frequently and noone said it was forbidden and risky to injure the crowd.
Also he took my lights when at least 40 people was arround me tripping on my lights.

Anway Biggy i will send you an email tomorrow explaining all what happened and i hope bringing the lights with me at ARIA will not be problem in the future, i am sure that yourself was enjoying my lights every night i am there.

Great night. Great job. Keep on going.

i noticed the security was more present than on other nights(more staff ????) and there was a tension, the never ending the coat check...
(not even a smile when i sent my joke about my sawed-off shot-gun..(im so an original idiot))

another thing. it though smoking (*.*) was as long you dont do it in front of everybody.. well not officialy, but it was the 1rst time i saw staff guys stop people, grabbing their stuff, going aways without a word...

at first, this tension pissed me off, (not that i had problems with security)

but i understand why, and it is ok, i mean, who wants an
hallucinating guy shooting everywhere ?

the security is there for our safety. they are doing a good job. thank them for me biggy.

more and more girls on trancy nights. great.

yeah too bad you weren't there....we missed your id skills, cause there are many tunes i would like to know the name....

my 2 cents:

Ornadel wasn't THAAT great, of course he had his good moments yesterday.

I'm sorry if I'm being negative about that event... it just didn't feel right. The set was "saccad" meaning not flowing as smoothly as other trance sets... which is disapointing IMO.

my highlight of the night was when he dropped williams orbit - adagio for strings cause its my best song ever

its a shame that no other TAs came that night, we need your energy to bring the party to another level!

man , you just made my day!!!
since that night, I was looking for a song that I knew I recognized but I couldnt find the name.......you just gave me the answer!
great sonG!!

and I also think that it wasn't as flowing as other trance night......but still pretty amazing...
I didn't imagine that Gatex could be so great!!!!!!!!

Posted by j@y on Nov-25-2002 22:44:

ive listen to
Umek - Gatex on my computer
but damn it sound soo little compare to the tune live

that tune was by far the greatest moment of the night
