This is a pretty good remix!

The quality is quite good, though there are some digital blips around 2:30. For a dancer though, the almost minute and a half without a bass beat can be a floor killer That doesn't mean that it's not a good remix, just maybe have another mix that is a little tighter on the dead space (no bass beat). My only other suggestion is that you have other instruments come in on your second and third chorus. This will help build the energy of the track. Usually something in the trebble range--you only need something really faint and high to add a lot more energy to the song.

Overall, this sounds like a professional mix to me--and I've got thousands of songs, good and bad in my cd rack

yo dude,
I gotta say I heard most of the mixes for "within each of us" and that one rock!!! one of the best ones!!
what did you use to make that pieace! anyway soudns really good!

bye for now.

Thanks for your honest review, Dj Flesch.

I took a listen around the 2:30 area but I didn't notice any digital blips, so maybe it is a problem with the file server I am using. On the area of extra instruments, the 2nd and 3rd parts actually do have more instruments respectively, (more strings/brass, and an extra bassline), although the bass is a little quiet and it blends in with the chorus. Thanks for your tips, I will keep this all in mind for the next remixes and productions I do.

To Rising:
Thanks, I'm glad you like it, I made this one in FruityLoops with some extra plugins, and did the mastering in Cool Edit.

Bassline is a killer mate!!!

I would like to hear more percussions , it's sounds empty atm.
Also get rid of the snare u used as a clap. They tend to slow the song down IMO.

But still , it's one of the better remixes I've heard of this track!
Good job ElZap0! And again , the bassline is awsome!!!

Cheers!

Robstar: Thanks for your review. It means a lot coming from a professional. (ps: 'Parker - Fade Away' is awesome!)

It's a .OGG file. Winamp supports it by default.. higher quality at equal bitrate compared to mp3.. so I made it around 128kbps vbr. Most people use Winamp anyways. If you come onto ICQ I can send you an mp3 of it if you'd like. (either that or find an ogg plugin for whatever you use to listen to music).

that's exactly what i use!!

but i couldn't get windows media player, real player, quicktime, and winamp to play it...

could u upload like an mp3 or wav version of it?

Posted by El~ZaPo on Nov-26-2002 00:09:

The ogg file has now been replaced with an mp3 file. Enjoy!

Hello

Nice remix u got there! I love that bassline. You have also managed to keep it reasonably different from the original something i thought was difficult to do when I remixed it. I think it could need some more work on the percussions though. They were a bit simple, and like robstar said, the snare could be changed into a more traditional clap.

Peace

Posted by El~ZaPo on Nov-29-2002 01:32:

Thanks for the comments Fatboy. Yes I also found it difficult to have it sound different from the original yet also give it a unique sound compared to the other remixes. The snare is actually the sound of a snare and a clap together. PS- I have heard your remix now and I really like it, especially the breakbeat parts - something that is hard to put into this song. Good luck getting a spot on the vinyl!

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Nov-29-2002 06:48:

haven't heard the original but i will DEFINITELY be using this in some upcoming mixes!!! it's really my style. as it is i'd give it a 8/10

i also love your bassline! but yes i do have a few complaints. first of all, i'd like to see a slightly longer buildup at the beginning. and i agree with robstar, more percussion would be nice cuz it does sound like something's missing. also i think the instrument youve chosen for the main theme is kind of anticlimactic. after the breakdown there's a really nice buildup and then it breaks into the main theme and it just feels empty (more percussion might help this along.) i guess i'd just like it to sound more energetic.

anyway good job, i really like this!
