http://www.audiotekpro.com/cgi-bin/...d=3&action=view

my friend showed me the site

what do you think ?
ive never heard of them
but they are pretty cheap

Posted by Tony Morello on Nov-26-2002 23:54:

those look like the speakers i have
i currently have 2 accoustic response m-1220 speakers
they're rated at 250watts
i'm not too sure of the impedance and all the other specs...
but the ones i have thump great
for loudness, i'd put them on par with the JBL Eon G2

The price is good but i dont trust the name.

Posted by DjJade on Nov-27-2002 09:03:

yeah...haunted, those speakers will be very very loud... the specs look good too, pretty good range and everything, you may want to invest in a sub for frequenies below 55 hz though. specs look relaly good just make sure you lisen to them first becuase specs dont necessarily tell you how good soemthing will sound. they will be very loud though : P great price too what kind of amp are you gonna use

Posted by Tony Morello on Nov-27-2002 09:13:

yes, definitely take a cd of songs that you have or whatever and have them hook up the speakers so you can have a listen
any reputable place selling equipment will let you demo
if they don't, walk away

Well, as far as thump, they will do just that. These are club speakers, and I'm assuming that you are looking for something for monitors? The ONLY one of those speakers that you have listed that is worth getting is the "RPS-1565PA 15 inch Ridge surrond high temperature woofer" This is the only one capable of reproducing a full frequency range of sound! All of the others cut off between 2.5KHz and 6KHz. You will have no high range. Again, these are club speakers and are NOT ment to be used as a single pair setup.

But for $180 each, you can find something much more appropriate. These speakers are 1200W!!!! Do you have a receiver or amp that can handle this type of power? If so, good god why? You'll kill your eardrums really really quickly! You'll also only use that type of power completely at REALLY high volumes. Not only that, but the sensitivity is only 95.9dB on this pair. You will be clipping a small amount of dynamic range (probably about 2-6dB) from your original source--as long as your mixer doesn't do it first.

Please rethink ordering these if you are looking for bedroom DJ monitors. Please rethink ordering if you are considering using these for monitors at all. They are good thumping speakers, but as I said, unless you plan on having several pair of different types of speakers, I'd only go with the 15" listed above due to the frequency range capabilities.

PS I noticed that I was reading the wrong stat for sensitivity. The 15" is 98dB, so that will be decent. (I was reading for the second 15" listed on your last link) I suggest you go to best buy or something and check out decent speakers there. Then go online and search for the lowest prices. www.mysimon.com is a good electronics search engine, I have found.
