IBM "Deathstar"? I lost mine too. You know there's a class action against IBM? Fortunately, all my mp3z are on 2 Seagate Barracudas.

Is there really a class action against IBM for the "Deathstar" hard drive series? Because I had one of those and it went on me also...hmm...wonder what I can get out of this...

Talking THX & greets...

many thx 2 all who replied tho i'm not 2 sure if the "Deathstar" replies really apply 2 my situation... .

Haai Hank: what is the "hub" - pls excuse me for being dense! If u mean what i think u mean then i HAVE searched for the title & found no matches :-(

PointyDC: if u can it would be greatly appreciated (this is the most pleasant forum i've ever taken part in thx 2 all u true trance fans)...pls let me know.

DJ Dowlz: Barracudas seem 2 be the way 2 go (I can get 2x80GB Barras for £150 (whats that in Aus$ - seems good 2 me - pls let me know if thats a good price) from where i work). Also where do u get the info on the "Class Action" - i'd love 2 know as i lost 2x 18GB Ultrastars within the last year or so.

THX 2 all 4 the quick responses so far.

Respect,

Hell

Fuck! Don't scare me man! I have WD Caviar 80gb and i have like 30gb+ of 2002 rells and sets which i haven't backed up!
My burner doesnt work!
What kinda failure was it?

Posted by Hellblazer on Nov-30-2002 22:11:

Dont worry 2 much m8...

I have always bought WD & IBM (Ultrastars & Deathstars!) b4.
This is the first WD failure i have had in 23 years! I also work in computer retail (tech support) & have had very few WD failures - mine was due 2 spindle motor failure :-( - dont happen very often - rest assured!
