Smiley DJ Nye.......

Hey guys and gals

O.K the sceane is set, its nye and your having a house party. All your mates are there (all TA mates in sprit) and time is ticking towards the o'clock.
You run back to you sound system.Frantically you search for THAT CD,after a heafty search you arise the victor.

-now after all that

i ask, what track do you put on to bring in the new years?

Posted by webmeister on Nov-29-2002 12:29:

Underworld - Born Slippy

That is all.

Smiley DJ

well i really dunno
but i'd have to go for
Marco V vs Faithless - GODD Is A DJ (Bootleg)

and if its my house party.... i'll probably get a shoe thrown at me for playing it...seeing as my friends love the tomato sauce song

but one song that would keep all of them happy would be
Neanderthal- cave man

so Marco V vs Faithless.... just b4 12
and after 12 neanderthal
im sure everyone will be happy...

Born Slippy sure is popular.

I heard a new years set once (mp3, didnt hear it live) and the dj called the number which tells you the time, cant remember what it is for australia now. I assume he had it on a 3rd or 4th channel, and he kept bringing it into the song until it was Midnight the first of january. Pretty cool.

As for my track, I have no idea.

Could not have said it better myself.

It is indeed the quintessential party anthem, without really intended to be. Just stirs up so much emotion, one of which - LETS FUCKING GO NUTS!!!!!!

... or alternatively, I'd play:

Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight, Tonight.

Posted by imabug on Dec-02-2002 04:40:

3 words... cafe del mar... whichever mix...

it's the ultimate smack out song...

Posted by dj_helen_k on Dec-02-2002 04:51:

@ welcome 2001

yeah! I'd love to hear Veracocha as the clock strikes 12.

If not that, I'd like to hear Mekka- Diamondback. It's a sentimental favourite of mine that brings back memories...it would be magic to hear on NYE.

Posted by Renegade on Dec-03-2002 10:11:

Yeah, it'd have to be Auld Lang Syne - especially the Glenn Miller Band version which should allow for some drunken can-can action.

Also that Mike Koglin track with the talking-clock guy - "At the third stroke the time will be 11.59pm and 30 seconds....". Magic.

Was anyone else at mobile home last NYE?

Anyone else that was there will know why I nominated it
If you weren't there, download Darren Emerson - Live @ Bondi Beach 31-12-2001

The clock hits midnight, the fireworks start crackling, you're frantically hugging/pashing every girl u can see and then BANG! Born Slippy! Probably the best moment I've ever had out partying

The chords at the start of Born Slippy repeated for about five minutes while the fireworks display went off, then in came the vocals .. cue the off chops singing Then thump. Brilliance
