Oakenfold "wasn't aware" that he is a SELL OUT
Ok, Pyro..here you go:
On Thanksgiving Eve Z100 had Oakenfold on the radio for a couple of hours talking about his upcoming show at EXIT and how successful and amazing he is.
He took a few calls from some people who told him how much they adored him and they had all of his CDs. Then my big mouth was on the scene. I called up and they put me through to Paul..the first words out of my mouth were "Hi Paul, I love you!!" (I couldn't help it!) but then I said: "I want to know what you think of the rumors that you have SOLD OUT??" Both he and the DJ were surprised and Oakie said he was totally unaware of these rumors! I said "Well, I HATE to be the one to break it to you, but many people think you play harder and longer for the UK then for the US." He said he tried to play hard for everyone and the DJ asked if I meant SUCCESS and not SELL OUT? I said "No, I don't deny your success, Paul, but come ON!" Well, the call pretty much ended after that..heehee.
I have to admit, it was great to be able to say that to Oakenfold. I am NOT an Oakie-hater...Oakenfold was my first love, he is the first DJ I ever saw live... But the Paul who OWNED me in 98-00 seems to have been replaced by this MTV, Z100 personality who doesn't seem to care about his true fans anymore. I had hoped that our brief conversation would piss him off enough to play extra hard at EXIT just to prove me wrong. I guess not, though, from what I have heard.
Anyway, just wanted to share that with you guys, as my non-addict friends have no idea who "Paul SomethingorOther" is. Oh, and P.S. - sell out or not, that accent rocks! LOL
That made my night
Insider info ; I met up with her from on the stage that night during my deep depression (brought on bye oaky and exit fob's) When I heard about this, Immediately a glow of happiness came over me
Me and my 2 friends where Laughing our fucking ass's off ! From then on I was cool ! Nice one
Hehehe, i was soo happy to hear this, good job hehe, hopefully oakie goes back to making music, and not soundtracks.

lol, dumb oblivious mother******.
he was probably doing the jesus pose in the studio before you said that to him.
sold out, played out, hated on...whatever u wanna call it...what it really comes down to is that he doesnt want to "retire" lols he's out of the limelight now and he cant take it so he's making all moves to get back the popularity that he had...granted he did do alot for the scene, but please man, just put the headphones down. hang them up already. he's hurting the scene more by going mainstream then he would if he just retired. i guess thats what happens when greed and money get to you and you see it slowly decline...you grasp for any plug you can get, any income for him. but this z100 shit, eH...bullocks...
this is just my word...
actually when I talked to him, I told him Ibiza was kind of sketchy. I was scratching my head trying to figure it out. So he was like, "Don't worry, my next CD (Bunkka) is going to have some whicked choons."
If I ever see him again I'm gonna throw the cd at him while he's doing his god pose

I only got to talk to him for like 30 seconds, btw that man is fucking hairy!!! I have never seen anyone with more hair, my god!!
Oakie still ownze all of u so dont hate the man.

Perhaps it's easier to mix in the studio when he's not all Coke'd out in the club...or sloppy drunk..
I'm pleased with the CD, there are some choice cuts and it flows fairly well. Nothing spectacular but fairly good.
Live he still licks, nowhere near what he once was...
