OK, here we go, comp mix 5, the first ever themed comp mix

THE THEME IS NO THEME, YOU UNIMAGINITAVE TWATS

Closing date for DJs: 1st January 2003
Closing date for mixes: 1st February 2003
Closing date for results: 1st March 2003

There will be no exceptions for DJ entry, however exceptions will be made if people are having problems uploading with slower connections. My suggestion is to send your mix to somebody with a fast connection for them to upload.

Mixes must be submitted in 160kbps Mp3 quality, CBR or VBR, no Mp3-Pro files are allowed.

You may mix with:
1. 12" Vinyl
2. CDs
Only acceptable formats used to mix with are CDs and Vinyls - NO Mp3 Mixes

All DJs must state how they have made their set, ie which formats used.

All mixes must be recorded live, no using multiple mixes and sticking the best transitions together.
You may plan and practise your mix, but not to the point that it becomes robotic.

Mixes must be at least 60 minutes in length, a maximum of about 80, but if its 90 it ain't important, just no 3 hour sets, etc.

All mixes must be uploaded with a tracklist, a cue sheet would also help. You may combine both into the cue sheet, but remember not all CD writers support that type of cue sheet so be careful when burning.

Contestants may not also be a judge, you have the choice to be either, not both.

You may not download other contestants mixes.

You must mix trance, this rule bends as far as progressive and hard trance. Contestants will be disqualified for extended use of non-trance music.

Mixes will be marked on the following categories:
a) Track selection and play order
b) Beat-matching
c) Transition harmonics
All sections contain 25 marks, no section is worth more than another.
A percentage will then be calculated from these three areas to give a better comparison.

You must actually mix to gain marks, snapping together of tunes is not allowed. That is not really DJing.

All judges will have to be appoved by me and will only be accepted as long as nobody else has any problems. Judges must take this duty to mix seriously. All mixes must be marked on skill and the way the contestant progresses their mix, NOT ON PERSONAL OPIONION OF THE CONTESTANT OR THE SONGS HE WISHES TO MIX. Although contestants must abide by the tracklist rules.

Judges and Administrators have the right to reserve and change/ammend these rules.

if starf0x is a judge please withdraw my name from the list of candidates for mixing.

I do not trust starf0x after his last effort of judging where he knocked down a competitors marks for the very basic reason of taking the piss out of Paul Van Dyk.

i would be afraid to say anything bad about PvD for the next 2 months in case starf0x marked my mix down.

and i am no way gonna do that. if PvD makes a bad track or messes up a mix i am damn well gonna say so.

CONCLUSION: NEO IS NOT DENSE

If anyone is dense then it is you starf0x, your attitude stinks, you learn nothing from your past mistakes, you are biased towards ppl that worship PvD as you do and are biased against anyone that dares to utter any word of contempt for PvD.

As to this comp, the way u acted when u was a judge of a previous comp should IMO ban u from entering all future comps of this nature until at least u can proove that u can be a neutral player, not only here on the forums but also in the TA chatroom.
