Event Calender

It might be gay .. but maybe we could have a calender for TA that showes wot parties are happening when and where.. .. just a thought

i know it's a lot of work.. but i think that if only the mods of the locoal forums had ability to post on it.. then it would cause less work.. for swamp..

As I said earlier if all Local mods had access to it.. then it wouldn't be much work..

so in other words saying

there would be a BASE calendar.. with the normal dates on it.. and then lets say.. there would be an event going on in Israel then Hell_Copter, luckystrike, or YuVaL will be able to get in and post on it saying well on Jan 4th PVD will be in.. blah blha blah.. or something like that.. and that would be for all other local areas as well..

true it can be crowded on a little box.. or something.. but maybe we would do 5 or 6 calendars.. one for each MAJOR local area (i.e. Canada, USA, Europe, Australia, Asia, Ibero-America )

the only prob is .. would that be possible of creating?

I think it would be cuz .. I know of a way.. but I would have to pm swamper about it.. but I�ll do that only if the event calendar is a good idea. and if some of the mods agree to it

Maybe Swamper could even code a little plugin that removes dates from the post after they've passed and adds a new one on the end so there's only 2 months in advance ever showing. All the mods can then edit it to add party info, and maybe even a link to the appropriate "arrangment" post in whatever regional forum it belongs in.

im in favour of the idea, but not in favour of me doin it i would update the promise bit maybe...

i thinks a fucking awesome idea myself! so then everyone will be able to knowwhen all of the events are for their relative countries!

it shoudl definatly be sumwhere more viewble like chillout or sumthing, then with links to any meetup/info threads posted in the relative forums for the event like i think spad said.

maybe bigger events could be highlighted ie gc monthly, club birthday nights, all nighters, nec stuff like that as people are more lielly to go to them, then the smaller nights like promise, passion etc could be viewed, maybe jsut have icons on the date the smaller clubis on, then clicking the icon revals the details?

it would be a great idea cuz I�m betting there are some ppl around the world who would like to go to big events but never know when they are.. so u know it would be a little thing like..

"Oh look it's Loveporade.. lets go there this summer. ... OHH and look 2 weeks from that it's Trance Energy .. and 2 days letter something In France." ... sort of thing..

and as Spad said ya having a link to the event would be even more informing.

Chill out room would be good.. but remember there are a few ppl who stick to the local forums and nothing more.

I like Ste's idea of the highlighting .. cuz it would be more visible

Mazz I agree on that there might not be much room on TA and having a separate website would be great.. BUT then remember if we do one big calendar.. with all the countries, a lot off mods will have to have access to it.
If that�s fine with you.. then good .. but lets say u don�t want that many ppl going on to your website.. u might not have the time to update the calendar.. or u might forget it and then .. the entire idea might go to crap.. Not saying that u might do that but it's just taking per caution
that�s why I said that all local forum mods should have access to it cuz that will spilt up the work load

I'm willing to share the password access with all the mods, so they'll be able to update it whenever they want... no problem

yeh, maybe if you view the calenar in a local forum only the events for the relative forum show up perhaps?




and yeh i think lots of poeple shud be resposible for keeping it up to date liek u sed julie, coz if one person is doing it and then forgets it goes shit!

This sounds like an great idea!

But I think we need some region info or something, because on certain dates there will be a lot that happens. (example : 31.12.2002)

How about instead of having a sticky thread, there's just a link to it on the Main Page of the forums called "Upcoming Trance Events" or something. It could just lead to a post that any of the mods can change.

ivibes doesnt work for ntl users thsu is shit! and prett much defeats the purpose of having this function if it jsut goes to a different site.
