New GU
This is fucked..
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...&threadid=77660
guess we know who's doing the next global underground. Hope they dont mess up!
thats gonna be gu 25 but nick warren is doing gu 24
actually the new gu is nick warren gu024 in iceland
KICKASS!!! I'm in TO next weekend... woohoo...
well next as in next one to record.. but thanks for the clarification anyway. Iv always wondered though. I mean its not rare that even the best djs mess up. I guess it would really suck if they make a little mistake and taint the cd. It would be such a hastle to have to rerecord it somewhere else.
And just a little complaint. Could they not find new people to make gu cds? i mean even if they HAVE to continue with progressive house, there's plenty of other unique names and styles to choose from. I guess lavelle is a new name and they do have the nubreed series but this is warren's what.. 4th gu? and didnt deep dish just do one? Something different please.
Dude you can be sure that any mistakes they make live will not work it's way onto the CD. It will get edited and perfected like everything else.
DJs seem to lose their 'personality' when recording for the GU label. They force all the DJs to play this distinct GU sound that i find kind of on the boring side.
i don't know why but i never took the time to listen to a GU compilation not even the famous Sasha013

You guys obviously don't know shit about GU recordings, but hey, don't take that as an insult or anything like that...
Every GU recording is recorded in studio, and the tracks are picked out of the tracks that were played on the given night in the club or wherever the GU is supposedly recorded at.

GU cds are brutal...they are easy access for commercial retards to get their hands on oakenfold, sasha, digweed etc
the seb fontaine GU is the worst album ever released in the electronic world
the only one thats decent..is the deep dish moscow cd...which is surprising since some of their sets are snoozers
I personally loved most of the gu's. Did anyone of you guys listen to the James Lavelles i love his progression on the first cd from dj shadow to roots manuva, its beautiful!
maaaaaaan oh maaaaan james lavelle is thaaa shiaat this GU is the best thing ive ever heard this year man i prefere this one on a lot of compilations and the guy is simply mad actually i love his sound cant wait to have him at stereo or something...
nah the best mix this year is the madhouse compilation mixed by dj jean.

Satoshi's New Breed was absolutely beautiful, my fav track on that compilation is on cd 2 , i think the 2 or 3 song, do you know what its called?
All the Dave Seaman's GU CDs are excellents (12, 16 & 22), Oekenfold the 4th is awesome and of course Sacha the 9th and the 13th.
Of course you have to listen from the first track to the end as a book.

dont get started on stupid talks, coz it seems so obvious that you dont know shit about progressive musik...
personally i think that all GU's are great, and most of all i think that Oakenfold's GU007 New York is 1 of the best made ever
James Lavelle GU wasn't that great, for 1 fact that half of the songs are already well known by most nu-skool breaks artist, but neitherless it was a good GU.
to each their own
especially on prog...its a type of music that appeals to only certain people...and when you get technical....certain djs appeal to only a certain crowd...especially..when u compare sasha, deep dish santoshi..etc...they all have different prog styles
