whats a good program to edit mpg's sound??

i need a program to edit the mpeg's bass on it...where i shoot in a rave with heavy bass i cant understands what going on in the background..is there a video editing program to do this??

By far the best that I've found is

Adobe Premiere

It's quiet a big programme but you can literally do anything with it. Create real good quality movies and export toall formats, transitions between frames, previews, overlay etc
