am almost finished with Talismans - Stephen King and the next book i'm reading after that is Lasher - Anne Rice
I have just finished "bird song" by Sabastian Faulks, and now i am reading "Charlotte Gray". I like his style of writing.
Matt
i only read to learn so i read lots of textbooks and stuff. i don't see the point of reading sci fi or murder mysteries.
I just finished High Maintenance by Jennifer Belle, now I really, really hafta hit the books if I want to at least pass this term
is that lord of the rings not a gay porn book?

I'm reading The Silmarillion (again) as well as Orson Scott Card's Shadow Puppets which is a pseudo-sequel to Ender's Game. Very good stuff from Card as usual. That plus a giant organic chem. textbook.
I'm reading Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk (who also wrote Fight Club). It's a bit fucked up
Advice for other good reads:
Stephen King - IT / The Stand (both amazing works which just didn't work on the screen)
Jeff Noon - Pixel Juice / Vurt (this guy writes wicked stuff, a lot of it based on dance / rave culture)
George Orwell - Nineteen Eighty-Four (Needs no introduction, classic & scary as shit
)
I'm reading Shampoo Planet for school, reading the Death Gate Cycles on my spare time..
any of you like reading bout the beatnik generation.
jack kerouac
nod
im not really a book person but hes a writer i certainly enjoyed
I just started:
The Brothers Karamazov - Fyodor Dostoevsky
I just finished:
The Hobbit - JRR Tolkien (2nd time reading it.)
MY next one will probably b:
Clockwork orange - Anthony Burgess
or
The Dispossessed - Ursula K. Le Guin
Don DeLillo - Underworld
I'm currently reading Faust for one of my college classes
I stopped reading due to school:
The Remains of The Day by Kazuo Ishiguro
El Ao Que Viene Estamos En Cuba by Gustavo Prez Firmat
"The House of Leaves"
best book ever
im reading vonneguts "timequake", and i better start taming of the shrew some time lol.
Just read captain corelli's mandolin and angela's ashes, both very good.
Now reading some kingsley amis book, supposed to be a 'modern classic', but i aint that enthralled by it
Hanif Kureishi - The Black Album
Really good book!
Right now I'm reading 'Glamorama' by Brett Easton Ellis (The guy who wrote 'American Psycho'). It's so funny, its a complete satire of the model-fame-poser world. This guy is a great author, no doubt.
Will have to give that a go, he did a wicked job with American Psycho. (does anybody know if the film does the book any justice?)
