Smile Most Memorable Sports Events Of 2002

had to be CANADA'S DOUBLE in HOCKEY IN THE OLYMPICS

we beat the yanks in women's hockey then we beat their men's hockey team on their OWN SOIL!. What a day....then again...it shows what canadians have that most others don't....true grit....we bunched up and played as a team. WHAT A CELEBRATION IN THE STREETS AFTER OUR WIN!....HIGHLIGHT of 2002.

I mean what sports event was more memorable for you and why?

world cup?...tour de france?

I shall add another.....Arturo Gatti vs. Mickey Ward May 18th/2002....boxing fight of the year....find the vid of it.

That would have to be Canada's double gold. To me it validated everything that is being Canadian.

Number two would be Arsenal winning the double.

I can predict that for 2003, it will be Arsenal winning the treble.

nothing comes close to the World Cup

less memorable memory: France going out in the first round without scoring 1 single goal

I have to agree that the Arturo Gatti Vs. Mickey Ward fight was awesome, it was one of the better fights i've seen in a while, but I dunno if I would say it was the most memorable sports thing that has happened for this year, I owuld have to think hard to find the most memorable sports event for this year.

The World Cup without question was memorable. It only happens once every 4 years. The time gap is something I'll never forget. Staying up all night and sleeping at 8am is something I'll never forget.

soccer?? yeah it might be the biggest sport in the world, but where are the goals?? france in a whole tourny with no scoring?? come on.. the nfl or even ncaa football is what takes the cake, lots of scoring especially for ncaa football, but the best moment, well actually nothing really too exciting happened this year, last really exciting moment i had was Bucs vs Rams on MNF a couple of years ago in Tampa with Shaun King at QB, i lost my voice screaming so much and i hardly ever yell at the TV,.. that was one hell of a great game... remember the latteral?.. i about shit in my pants i was so excited...
