Best DJ/Producer of 2002
hey everyone, i've been posting this at digitally imported radio too because i would really like to get everyones opinion on the best trance act of 2002, either because of their amazing djing or the amazing releases they have given us this year!! thanks to everyone who votes!
L-Vee. Under all of his guises this year he hasn't failed in one production. As a DJ I haven't seen him much this year but I have been impressed with what I've seen. (Although very close behind it has to be M.I.K.E
)
i think Hiver & Hammer have had an incredible year. as far as djs go, i think johan gielen would take the top for me.
Sasha has had an excellent year as far as djing goes.
Holden ,
James Holden .

I agree with Sasha and Holden (plus many more). Funny, a few months ago people were saying this was going to be another average/boring year for trance but I think it's turned out pretty damn good thanks to guys like them.
it has been a boring year for trance, yet Holden & Sasha have made things more interesting for progressive house

ARMIN for dj sets
FLUTLICHT for producing
DJ of the Year: Armin van Buuren
Producer of the Year: James Holden ("Nothing" and the Ogenki Clinic remix of "Digital Reason"...mmm, both in my top 5 for the year)
James Holden, Gabriel+Dresden, Push
NOT John Creamer and Stephane K... IMO they are super super overrated. Fuck Sonnet is such a poorly produced piece of trash.. most of their songs are repetitive and aimless
Katana, G&D, Nu Nrg, Oliver Lieb, Filterheadz.........
I think Above and Beyond have done some nice tracks and remixes and so have Airbase (sick remixes) havent seen them or hear them dj???
but u cant go past Armin this year with DJing and producing
For the 2 sides of music I hold dear:
1. Prog.- Harry Lemon (Lemon 8). Great producing and remixing this year. I'm surprised he hasn't been mentioned yet. Also have to throw Filterheadz in there. Sasha and Digweed as far as DJing goes.
2. Trance - PVD has had a couple of the best sets this year that I've ever heard. His Rosenmontag Rave is still in my top 3. He's remixed some incredible pieces, though he doesn't release them (bastard!).
Evry 2 weeks or so this topic comes up, and every time Armin wins....
so once again I will so best Dj/Prod is Armin
Best Dj: Armin and Dj Dawn
Best Producer: Hiver & Hammer
Flutlicht & S.H.O.K.K get my vote for producing....consistently brilliant...
Also credit to Armin for establishing himself as a maestro, M.I.K.E for consistent genius and Ferry (Ferry just because of Punk and Pocket Damage which I loved).
