Celtic! premeirship or not?

right so the real question! who wants us in the premiership?! and your reasons! cannae just say "no yer shite"

i think weve proved were a quality side by beating numerous teams recently! juve, man u, leeds, leicester, arsenal, blackburn, valencia, porto, rosenborg, celta vigo, basel,

cannae remember them all too many to name really

Posted by flystyler on Dec-05-2002 15:52:

Well i think for Rangers and celtic to be as god as they should be they should be allowed in the premiership. They are being held back by the tiny scottish league. This will give other scottish clubs a chance to shine hopefully

It will also be good for the premiership, but if they want to be in our leagues they cant just fit straight in.

No clubs should do that, but they should have to start in division one.

The only problem i have is that both are very inconcistant. With celtic and rangers now regularly swapping who wins the league each year. And their form in Europe isnt much to admire either

So i think it is the only way for the 2 clubs to get better

So let them fight there way from division one

Posted by Martin McG on Dec-05-2002 15:55:

inconsistent my arse fly! theres only 1 team in scotland and one in europe! and rangers aint won the league for i reckon the past 3 years and prolly for the next 7! but i agree itll be better for everyone involved!

For a celtic fan u seem to lack the knowledge

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foo...rem/default.stm

Celtic on top by 1 point, and rangers were on top by a lot more not that logn ago

Celtic have a good manager after shitty ones like kenny dalglish who only did well at liverpool

Celtic one the league last year, but i think u will have to go a few years back to find out when they last one it

But anyways there ground, and money situation is good enough.

I think they would be in top10 in the EPL, but not challenging for the top

Posted by Martin McG on Dec-05-2002 16:10:

true fly they are 1 point clear! but they will win the league again this year! in the past 4 year cetic have won the league 3 times! win it this year again which makes it 4 out of 5 id say!
put out of the champions league ast year by a dodgy penalty in turin! even although celtic beat juve, porto, rosenborg and then valecia only to be put out on penalties in the uefa cup!
beat blackburn home and away! beating celta vigo so far this season in uefa cup, lost on away goals to basel who managed to put out liverpool!
beat man u, arsenal, leicester, leeds all away games, friendlies?! dont matter! celtic didnt want to lose neither did the oppsition!

Posted by torontotrance on Dec-05-2002 16:39:

They ain't in the top 3 (arsenal, liverpool and man utd)'s league, they would not be able to compete. If celtic moved then so would rangers and the scottish league would probably fold.

MASSIVE ****

i don't even watch togger anymore but talk like that still enrages me

any more of that shite and i'll cave ya heid in

Posted by flystyler on Dec-05-2002 16:50:

LOL, Man UTD are known for their shit form in friendlies, it was hardly anywhere near their full side, which celtic fielded.

Posted by Az on Dec-05-2002 17:06:

scottish football = pish
maybe Division one lads
doesn't matter anyway, premiership don't want you, Uefa dont care, and FIFA say it's illegal...
not gonna happen

Posted by Acid Circus on Dec-05-2002 17:19:

Dave, you talk such nonsense. When Larson leaves you will see how much he carries your team, struggling to beat Hibs without him proved that. Celtic are becoming too cocky, the cockiest team nearly always loses the old firm match, Saturday will hopefully prove my point again. We let you off at Parkhead, not Ibrox!

And as for being inconsistent, I believe Rangers are the only unbeaten league team in the UK, its December for christs sake!

Posted by Ste on Dec-05-2002 17:22:

both celtic and rangers teams are only as god as mid table/lower prem teams.

maybe if they came to england they could be shown for what they really are.

yeah I think most premiership class teams would be unbeaten if they were playing conference level teams
we had Celtic down at kettering for some testimonial, apparently 8 of the players are scottish under 21's
if thats true Scottish football is in a sorry state, you had 2 chances, fluffed them, if it wasn't for celtics keeper (who was danish I think) it'd have been 6-0 kettering!
it was 0-0 btw

contrary to what you say man u played their full side at old trafford!

Az i didnt say it was gonna happen i asked if you thought it would benefit the top uk teams!

ste nice to see your so open minded!

and acid ma bhoy if it werent for douglas making 3 mistakes at parkhead you wouldnt have scored! douglas was out of position for at least 2 of them!

Posted by Ste on Dec-05-2002 19:42:

yeh, but if celtic + ranger coem over i think they shouddl start in the first division, because they woudl jsut be getting free megabucks at the expense of two other clubs who worked for it in the year before.

Posted by Dj O'Callaghan on Dec-05-2002 20:31:

Aye I think they both should.

I would say for us bhoys around 8th Huns somewhere behind. Either way you know it will be the same old shit, for an instance some Combat 18 lot who are Chelsea fans approach Celtic fans, a couple of their lads get stabbed, we'll get labbelled the scum of the UK.

Biggest thing which fucks me off the other day, I got told by a mate, that their trying to get Celtic to stop singing certain songs as they belive it inspires sectarianism FUCK THAT! why don't they look at Rangers who sing the fucking sash for fuck sake, and that fat **** gascoigne who fucking wants to play the piper fucking wanker! If anyone sang the sash or done the piper in front of me I'd fucking stab the bastard or beat them to their eating their food through a straw for the rest of their life! This includes some of my mates who are born rangers fans. Also on other things of sectarianism in this article why mention taking down the tricolour?!?! ey what the fuck Celtic is an Irish fucking team! thats why the tricolours banned and if we have the tricolour banned (which won't happen trust me it won't) that means rangers can lose the fucking union jack. Also Andy Goram any reason why he's aloud to wear an armband when Billy Wright gets done over? that means if any IRA member gets done over Celtic players should be aloud to wear an armband. Its this sort of shit that makes me sick, its alright for one lot to do it but if we do we fucking get persecuted.

Rant over I got a lot a good mates who are Rangers fans so don't like take it to heart if what I says upsets you, after all hatred is born into us at the end of the day, and Rangers would be alright if they didn't idolise Loyalist scum in Northern Ireland but they don't so its a fucking pity.

i would like to c Celtic and Rangers play in England, altho it doesnt look like its gonna happen...

there is no telling how they would do... celtic may have beaten man utd at old trafford but that means fuck all... bolton beat man utd at old trafford, does that mean they will finish above utd? errr, no.

i fink a more likely scenario is Celtic and Rangers playing in the League Cup or FA Cup.. but even that looks unlikely

Posted by G K Murray on Dec-06-2002 02:46:

If they both did i certainly don't think that the SPL would fold at all, in fact it would progress, giving other sides finally chance and a major incentive to play at the start of each season to go on and win something.

where did i say celtic would finish above man utd? never did so what you talking about? im just saying i reckon they could compete with the top english sides which would make for a better overall league!

i agree with gk murray it would improve the scottish league as itd be more competitive!

agreed ste i dont think it would be fair if they just started in the top league i think they would need to go into div 1!

Posted by ChrisT on Dec-06-2002 10:36:

Its never gonna happen. First of all, they wouldnt do well in the premiership and secondly celtic players would winge on about the distance they would have to travel when playing teams in london.

dont talk shite! if you were getting 20000 a week would you complain?! they cant complain its their job! look at the teams they have beaten in recent years! they havent lost at home in europe in something like 8 or 9 games! so yuo cant say for certain they wouldnt do well!

HAHAHAHAAAA!!!!

More likely the English teams would whinge after they lose to Celtic - saying "They're not even an English team they shouldn't be in this league" moan moan moan.

They are obviously good enough for this league - there is nothing to say that they aren't...

Posted by ChrisT on Dec-06-2002 11:38:
