I need a mixer...what do you recomend?
well i'm just getting into all this, and i need a mixer now. i dont want a cheap $50 one, but i also dont wanna spend $500 on one either. i plan on mixing house, trance, etc. but i also wanna scratch some hip-hop. what would be a decent mixer to get for what i want to do? Someone told me the Gemini UMX-7 is actually a good mixer, is it? how is the Numark EM-260? what are some other good ones? TIA
I got A Behringer VMX 300
the best 362.33$CAN I spend in my life !
ok the BPM counter suck .. but I dont use
I mix with my ears not my eyes !
how much is that in American dollars? where can i order one from? and is it good for scratching and mixing?
I just checked Ebay and found some for sale for $147 US. should i get one of them?
Dont buy a behringer, get a vestax instead.
what's so bad about behringer mixers? i am also interested in buying a behringer dx500 or dx1000. anyone got bad experiences with them?
always thought behringer = quality
behringer= cheap made and sounds like shit.
get a Numark Martix 3
it's the one I'm probably getting.
if you want a pic, go to www.numark.com
and www.pssl.com have it for 300$
I have read 98% positive reviews for the Behringer VMX series mixers. I think it is a good choice. The VMX200 is a good choice if you don't think you'll used all 3 channels.
sounds good, cuz i bought a new VMX-300 for $147. thanx for the replies.
This is all you need believe me. Keep away from BPM counters, you'll learn nothing fast cos you'll just hammer them.
I have heard bad things about the stanton RMS3.
I say get a vestax PCV275 instead, basically the same features, it will last longer, and sound better.

3 million trance addicts can't be wrong!
Hi, Im with John.. go for the Vestax PCV-275, its around 350-400 US Dollars.
thats very expensive... sound like 600/700 $ CAN ! + tx
$500 isn't that much
You pay for quality
I've gone through a few mixers, and found that numark are shite.
You will only end up wanting something better. I suggest you save now and go for the real deal.
I own a DJM-600
Dont skimp on buying a new mixer, if you get a cheap one you will onyl want to upgrade again in a years time. I have a DJM-600 and i wouldnt change it for the world (well apart from a nice Rane rotary
) If you get an expensive mixer from a decent company (like pioneer or alen & heath) you can also use it or when you throw a party some where as the sound quality is brilliant and you wont have to rely on the amps to make your music sound good

tis what i got
only mix i ever used..
but i love it
does everything i need
doesnt really have any effects tho.
want to try out a djm 600 sometime to see the effects
but this is def worth the money
If you are going for a vestax, let me urge you not to get the 175!
You might of heard my bitching in earlier threads about it. So sorry i bought it!
The only stanton worth getting
This baby kills the DJM-600...you see the master Led's that is glowing liquid mercury...sick filters...tube preamp...pro dsp effect...and no plastic pieces all chrome industrial metal.
Vestax is the way to go on low budget. Either PCV-175 or PCV-275. But if You have money to burn then go for the only true club mixer out there

. But the PCV275 is fucking awesome!! I totally recommend that mixer, best bang for you buck
Whichever mixer you get, I suggest that you look for key features and then make a discission. I would suggest that you get at least a three channel mixer (unless you are absolutely sure that you will never use the third channel for another deck (TT or CD). I would definitely make sure that each channel had its own volume LEDs and that you can adjust between the cue and master volume in your headphones. Look for a frequency range of at least 20Hz-20,000Hz and and any other features that you would like.
Some examples are replacable crossfaders, crossfader curve selector, effects, BPM counter, kill switches, record out etc.
I think that you'll find comparing mixers much easier if you look at the features that they come with instead of people saying "this sucks" or "this is the ultimate mixer!" etc. Most people here have only a limited experience with maybe two to three mixers at the most. Granted, some have more, but what are the chances that they have used and can compare the mixers that YOU are interested in? Start a comparison sheet for the different mixers in your price range. Go to the webpages of each company and see what is in your price range. Then start eliminating from there.
Here is a list of most major Mixer manufacturers:
allen heath
American DJ
berhringer
gemini
numark
Pioneer
Rane
stanton
vestax
I'm sure there are others, but these are all of the major ones that I could think of, with links to their websites too! Enjoy!
i've looked at mixers and i'm not sure if not havig certain features will affect anything or not since i'm just starting...but i'm looking at the pioneer djm-500 and 600. Are these good??
Yeah man,
I'm currently saving up for the DJM-500 myself. If i had the extra money i would go for the 600, but the 500 has got what i need. =)
If you want to be able to also do hip hop, you're going to need a 2 channel battle mixer to do it right. Look at the Vestax 05 pro2. Judge Jules uses it in the studio at radio1 and the executioners use this mixer as well, so as you can see it's well suited for both hip hop and house/trance.
