-- For An Angel ?
Pages (2): [1] 2 »
I`ve been reading alot of posts on the best Trance song and I see a lot of people say that PVD For An Angel is the best ever , But I don`t agree there are many songs out there that just kick its ass , take Robert Miles / Children , the song is written and produced a lot better the song has a lot more emotion that comes from the heart than the so called best Trance song For an Angel . I also think that Robert Miles is one of the most talented song righters in the world , that stands for any style of music
i agree..
for an angel and children are possibly one of the best tunes ever to be made.. it may be not mentioned a lot because of how much its played and its sometimes attributed to being 'boring'?? =p..
Boring???
Nah Not possible
everytime I hear Children It always puts smile on my face....as for which is better I agree with Pete
pees
ps I would put Underworld - Born Slippy up there with those 2. Good ol' classic tunes.
WHatever MAn
I love For an angel and Children, when I hear I stop everything I'm doing to listen to them, they remain one of the best songs ever!!!
I agree a bit with everyone on this thread
Those are two excellent songs you are naming and I believe they're both the best, but in their own particular style. They sound very much alike but in fact they are an accurate definition of two very similar trance styles: Epic ( For an angel ) and Dream ( Children ). I didn't even know there could be a style difference between these two but it seems like there is... I honestly don't know which one is better but I guess that if I had to give away a gold medal then it would go to Robert Miles....
By the way, check out this excellent webpage: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/content.php?id=10479
If i should choose a winner here, it would no doubt be children
It was one of the tunes that got my road towards trance. I don't have words to describe that melody...
Cygnus X - The orange theme
I bet everyone have more than one favorite song, I have many as well but if I should choose one I choose an oldie but very good track Cygnus X - The orange theme , I have a version that I have never seen or heard from napster or any compilation. I got it a couple of years ago on a burned CD from a friend.
I will have a link to it here for a few days. Download it and see if you recognize the mix. Just rename to "mp3" after finished download. Use also right click and "save target as" http://hem.passagen.se/djsteve/cygn...orangetheme.jpg

OK...finally I get to thank Robert Miles in some thread here...cos that song Children he composed is the very reason I started listening to Trance.
Also does anybody else think 23 am is a classic ??? I tore the cassette listening to it so many times...there are tea stains on the album cover.

all pvd productions blow!!! and "for an angel" is nothing special either....Now robert miles- children is a different story... That tune has meaning... I guess there is a long ride on the bandwagon for pvd... Some people need to just get out and explore for there is soooo much better stuff out there....for listing "for an angel" as their favorite tune tells me they havent explored...
I've explored.
For An Angel will always be in my top 5 ever.
'nuff said.
dont get me wrong, i like for an angel... but its too commercial!!!!!! i have and always will stick with the progressive underground, there is such a better variety underground then the average commercial trance tune.
Like you guys say Children was what got you started on trance. Well that's what For an Angel did for me and for most my friends too. I guess to eash his own.
Yeah, For An Angel beats Children anyday(!)
I was already hooked on Trance, For an Angel ground that into me even more. Children, I didn't like it too much at the beginning, but I have to say I grown to really appreciate it.
For An Angel starts you off high, takes you higher then finishes by leaving you even higher - so high that
you justg can't get down....
I'm going to have to agree with PVD-For an Angel. I still throw that tune on all the time when I'm partying or just need my spirits lifted. Children just doesn't have the same affect as For an Angel.
For an Angel=mad boogying
Children=tappy toes
For me anyway
peace

i think both are great although children is more classic than PVD but both of them take me high and filled with emotion!
by the way - what about the other two:
ROBERT MILES - FABLE
PVD - ANOTHER WAY
also a banging tunes...

hey ... what's with the "for an angel" ? I think it is good, but for sure not the best. There's 100's better tunes than this one. Anyone feels the same?
guys - if u dont mind me saying - i think that children by miles was the start of the club trance age, and that is 2 be considerd but for the best trance track ever made by my opinion is only one track that when ever u hear it will rock u literally - and that is Airwaves by Rank1
my opinion

For an Angel is definitely the more emotional track, however Children is the better production and as was said, what really pushed trance and said we're here to say.

f***in shit...i remember i was like holy shit what the f**k is this when i heard "another way" and also "for an angel" and "children"...all of those are awesum..perfect bpm, perfect tunes too
don't forget armin van buuren's 4 elements also, it has a kickass tune...also astral projection vs. trillithon-burning up..and finally..thrillseekers-synaesthesia (pvd mix)
those are my faves
peace
for an angel isn't just one of the best trance songs ever.
it is a felling!
it is the loveparadeanthem.
it's called for an angel because it is a tribute to the loveparade.
the angel the song is about is the angel on top of the victory column in berlin. at this monument the loveparade takes place.
watch the video!!!!
in the end the camera swings to the angel on the monumenyt.
for an angel represents 1.5 million ravers at the loveparade
Man, I remember CHILDREN .. great tune, but FOR AN ANGEL, man, that tune brought tears to my eye, unexplained feeling.... also.. Xpander.. 2 trance songs that got me into the whole TRANCE !!! :-)
mm
well, we each got our very own taste of whats hot or not
Im more to what mood im in .. melodic if im home just relaxing .. or some progressive og hard trance when im out partying ..
For an angle is not me at all, but I havent heard it without the vocals, or any remixes though
but never the less, IMHO its not cool
but thats just me ...
