a friend of mine asked me the other day, which genre is more musically complex, house or trance? now i told id get back to him in a couple of days, so id like to hear ur responses.

There's really no real answer. Both can be complex. I've heard complex from both and vice versa.

It's like asking whether trance or house is the better genre. We can argue about it for days if you like, but when you get right down to it there's complex and simple trance as well as complex and simple house and everything in between. And nobody said complex is better, either. It doesn't make you more intelligent if you listen to complex music. But if it makes you feel big...

Amonsgst genres of electronic music, I don't think there is a very strong argument for anything being more complex than Goa.

There are some trance songs that employ the use of many instruments as well but I guess it's different because trance is synthesized whereas classical is performed by many at the same time. It's still musical composition but they're each different in their own way.
