Why don't you use the one that comes with Fruity?

Posted by cyrus2k2 on Dec-07-2002 16:14:

just one word: Ohmboyz

you get 4 tap-delays, 2 delay lines, with some lfos so you can automate every knob. distortion, reso, cutoff and so on...
you have to get this babe. it's my most used fx-plugin.

check www.ohmforce.com and have phun!

Native Instruments Spektral Delay...I think that's what it's called...it's got a learning curve but it's pretty cool.

i use the two that come with fruity, they work just fine...when they can't do the job, i have a few other free ones.....probably off thepluginspot.com or another free VST site.....

the ones that come with fruity are nice, but i guess if they arent up to par with what you are looking for, try some others...

Thanks for the help, iv got the ohmboyz one and it looks pretty good although havent had a chance to properly use it. I dont have fruity, i use reason n cubase, fruity is becoming so popular these days, maybe i should switch?

Posted by dj dimwit on Jan-06-2003 10:51:

I use Fruity only... it's all I need. But if you are experienced with Reasen etc., I don't think you need to switch...

Friuty is a very good program, it can top reason actualy. But reason+cubase ... I think thats more powerful.

Erm...Every delay has that...
Delay 2 in fruity has a knob that is called TIME, it's the same thing as steps.
1 sec = 1 step

The ones in logic dont have..

Is it possible to insert the friuty delay into logic ?

Posted by Flotser on Jan-12-2003 12:45:

i guess:

C:\Program Files\FruityLoops 3.56\Plugins\Fruity\Effects\Fruity delay 2

Lightbulb

The original question is too broad!
Both Ohmboyz and Spectral Delay kick arse and can easily produce some awesome delays.
But... (and this is where your question falls over...) it all depends on what kind of sonic result you are after. The delays mentioned can have very different results, and you'd probably want to use both (but in different situations).

Personally, I'm a fan of Ohmboyz, but if you don't need the fancy features it offers try a lower power delay to save your CPU Check out www.databaseaudio.co.uk for some free delays to try. And search around for the PSP 42 or 84 which can both do some nice stuff.

In summary - have a few delays at your disposal and use each one as appropriate!
