Do you sort your mp3 collection?
When I browse peeps on the hub, some have like 100 directories for all genres, or a directory per artist. And the tags, most have v1 and v2 tags, but a lot don't...
I sort all my mp3s nice, all 100% correct name and tags
Like '01-lexicon_4_-_lexicon_4-reach_me._airscape_mix-heb.mp3'
is 'Lexicon 4 - Reach Me (Airscape Remix).mp3'
All singles in 1 big directory, and 1 directory for new downloads
i am extremely anal about my mp3s... every single one has to be named a certain way and tagged a certain way. VERY ANAL!

i just download all the release folder and put the info in an info folder and the tracks in a mp3 folder i have
don't rename or anything
My Directories go as follows
Albums
Live Sets
Rave
Other
I always rename without all the underscores and whatnot, and depending on how Im feeling I might add (original mix) or not. And I also have a habit of always renaming files to mix, rather than remix.
i rename the folders but not the files
Unfortunately mine are in an awful mess. I never bothered sorting them from the start and since I've got 10 GB of them on my HD it will be pretty hard to start doing it now. Though when I'm bored I might fix them all some day.
right now i have no idea what i'mdoing with my mp3's i'm burning them and trying to make sure i dont have dubbles or triples.. he he he..
I tried to sort mine by genre but a lot of songs came up that are somewhat between the genres so I gave up. Have them all nicely tagged though.
yes of course:
01_hiver_and_hammer_feat_java_-_five_million_miles_handhs_different_gear_mix-sq.mp3
would be:
Hiver and hammer ft. java - Five million miles [Handhs different gear mix].mp3
first letter of artist, title and remix with capital others not and [] for remix because i think they look nicer than the ()
I've always sorted into sets and individual tracks directories, but just recently I've started going through my tracks and deciding what I like and don't and purging bad stuff. All my new downloads are now going into an incoming folder where I can listen to them and keep then separate until I decide if they're keepers or trash.
I always rename, also.
all sorted and tagged
75% sorted but most aren't tagged.
i keep all my files sorted and tagged----it makes it easy for doin' mixes and loadin' 2 my mp3 player and stuff....
Sorted & Tagged...
Artist - Title [Some Remix]
Same in the id3 tag.
That's the way I like them.
I sort all my mp3s by genre and then style it seems to work really well.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist so it's all got to be properly labelled, sorted, tagged, etc.
i try to sort them by directory and sometimes rename iff imm in the mood to
I'm planning to organize my mp3's, just as I'm planning to clean up my room. Both are a big mess!

I sort into livesets, albums, singles, etc.
of course, but it's a mess right now
Artist - Track title [Remix].mp3
Artist/title/remix only first name capitalized
so JUrGen De VriEs_-_ThE_ThEmE_(OriGINaL_Mix).mp3
is Jurgen de vries - The theme [Original mix].mp3
I download the whole release....
When I get 700 MB I burn it all...then I sort only the best tune of one folder...but I don't edit the name
i dont sort them at all. but since my hard-drive crash theres hardly any and they've all been shit anyway.
i have no MP3s stored on my computer!
