Hey Fatboy You have got somthing happening here , Some parts a very nice and some I don`t agree with . The first 32 beats of your melody are what I would call a perfect sequence after the I don`t agree with the rest of it , sound image is great what did you use for this ? . Also from what I have listen to taking every ones music I have heard think you are the best Trance Producer on this board . Keep up the good work . If any one ells can do better I would like to have a listen .

Posted by Fatboy on May-06-2001 14:23:

Hey, thanx mate It's always great to hear compliments about your own music.. Keep in mind that these tunes are a little old and that i've developed after this. I have had a lot of exams and school work til now, so i haven't been able to make much lately... Expect more later

Peace

Hello! Long time...

After a short hiatus... I'm back to the community. I'm also going to have my latest track sometime soon. Check out www.mp3.com/arkainjel/ for details.

My style's evolving at such a fast rate now. I'm heading more and more into symphonic instruments a la Hybrid and classical melodies the likes of Orbital.

My software: Acid 2.0, Sound Forge 5.0, Cubase VST32, a slew of original soundfonts, a Yamaha DJX for keyboard input, and of course, my Roland MC-505.

Greets to all my fellow producers on the boards...

Arkainjel

ps. Don't ask about what happened to my FTP. I'm finally getting back up to speed...

Somebody here mentioned FruityLoops.

I have it on my computer, but is it just me, or do those built-in samples really sound a bit un-professional?

Do any serious trance musicians use FruityLoops for producing/recording? If not, what do they use, normal synthesizers and MIDI, or some other software where you can directly input your melody from the computer screen?

The main thing that I use Eugene
Is Cubase and MicroWave XT { hard synth } always for the finshed product but I do use fruityloops and Music 2000 to try out melodys and put stuff together but thats it for these toy programs .

Posted by Peter Campbell on May-09-2001 07:03:

and one more thing its only as good as what you put into it

Posted by tu_face on May-09-2001 11:33:

the samples in fruityloopz 2 are all pretty cheezy, thats why u need to get/make ur own.. i havent used fruityloopz 3 yet, is it any good?? btw.. as far as software goes, when u got reason u need nothing else except a good sequencer (the one in reason is complicated and i havent spent enough time working it out yet..) like cool edit pro or sumthin... reason rules but it wouldnt beat hardware.. close thing though

Fruityloops , I don`t know what you mean by cheezy I just think they are poor quality but look at the price , you could use every trick in the book to make it sound all right even better some of them shity Trance Producers .

The samples Do suck, especially if you don't know how to use the 16 FX channels, they do amazing stuff. The good thing with FLP are all the plugins, if you know how to use them right, you'll get a proffesional sound. If you have a good wave editor and like creating, ripping and editing your own samples, you can do so. It's very easy to import them.
TIP: If you are importing loops from Rebirth, TURN OFF ALL ECHO, add the echo in FLP, otherwise it will suck.

Fruity Loops 3 Full, is in my opinion the Nr.2 song creation software out there today. (If Reason is Nr.1)
Nr.3 is Orion Pro 2.

(Fruity loops 2 on the other hand is poor...)

I agree.
Right now I'm looking for drum .WAV samples that I could easily import into FLP, the built-in drum kits suck. In particular I'm looking for good SNARE samples, the KICK ones are okay but the SNARE ones are terrible!

Can someone recommend good techno/trance Snare samples, in .WAV format? Thank you in advance.
