How Cool Are Your Old Folks, Music-wise?
uh huh...... exactly what the title says....
I have just spent the last 30 minutes going thru my mp3 collection with my D-A-D , dad, father, my old man (you get the picture) ... and for those who know me, you will know that my collection is full of the hardest music available online hehehe.....
after 30 minutes of listening.... my dad finally asked me to put Lady Dana live @ mysteryland 2002 on CD for him so that he can play it in his car , lol.
do you have cool parents like these? if so, i wanna hear about it
my maw and dad are completly the opposite

plz come, its really busy
my dad is pretty cool about my music, hes down here(my room/finished basement) alot when im listening to trance, even listens to some of my stuff when he works on his computer.
my mom likes more ambient stuff like chicane, i think she said she liked Gatecrasher - Wet when i was listening to it once
so yeah i guess my folks are pretty cool music wise
My parents are definitely not what some would consider hip or into the music, however... my brother threw a party with Dave Angel, Kenny Glasgow, and Derrick May back home and they went for most of the night. It was probably to support my bro mostly, but I still thought it was cool, my mom was even groovin to it, hahaha
My parents don't really like trance although they don't mind it either so there's never a problem if I want to play it in the house (which I do). My mom however likes beatless stuff more often than not and will listen to it if I play it. I'm sure Lady Dana would send her screaming though...

My parents are what u would call musically un-cool. I'd even be happy if they'd be into ANY kind of music specifically. Instead they, if at all, HEAR it (it being crappy commercial pop) in the background occasionally...My mum just commanedded me to burn her a cd featuring DJ oetzi, Las Ketchup and Cher
It's a shame bout my father though, cause he once played in a band and seemes to have totally lost his obsession for music (even though he loved better off alone and enjoyed when I played Magik 1). I hope Ill stay "true to the music" for the next 30 years..
My dad does some product launches for peugeot in the UK and he has asked me for some music a couple of times. The first time he used Atlantis Vs Avatar - Fiji (Lange Remix). I have recently given him Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (3 n 1 Mix) which he is going to use next week for something. They get played really load infront of an audience of 500 which is quite cool to listen to. Also, if anyone visited the peugeot stand at this years motor show he did all the video and audio for that. The songs were crap though so I have decided that for nexts years show to recommend some stuff!!! heh
dad = frank sinatra
mum = rock bon jovi etc
well one day my mother was doind some house work and sut down to relax a little bit..then i put the volume very high and i played tiesto's - lethal industry and solar stone - 7 citys (avb mix) and she said that was nice tunes and relaxing...
....
My DAD got ME into trance and electronica in general. Since I was about 2, we always had Jean Michel jarre, Jam & Spoon, Kraftwerk, and Tangerine Dream playing around the house. He spun @ parties when we lived in Russia(went under Dj IGOR), but doesn't have time anymore.
He listens to Digitally Imported 24/7. His favourite is Matt Darey, Ferry Corsten, and Armin. He loves his uplifting epic trance, and I've been trying to get him into progressive. We're always sharing recommendations, and always burn stuff for each other. It's amazing that on family trips, I was always allowed to put on my trance radio show tapes.
It's so off to have a father like that!! I was a bit embrassed about it at first, now I appreciate it.
My mom on the other hand...SEE Nyx's POST!!
Ilina
My DADS THA MAN!!!!!!!!!! he loves allot of what im in too. it soo hilarious i actually put a techno set together so he could listen to it while he played computer games!!!!!!!! lol!!!!!! and he taught me all about what a good stereo system is and whatto buy. and he gave me this huge long ass interesting talk on how he used to mix early early electroic music with reells and stuff liek that. So he rox!! My mom on tha other hand is all about pop music ans doesnt see past tha mainstream. So ive got a nice even mix of parents.

my parents lie and say they like it.

my dad is sorta ok with it, like i can be driving and he can be in the car and he will listen most of the time. but my mom hates the stuff! i can never play my music real loud when they are home, i have to keep it lower or listen on my headphones
so ya, my parents arent in to trance or anything
Mum - Rod Stewart, Elvis, or Radio on in the background
Dad - Classic Rock, Floyd, Zeppelin, Sabbath etc (so I like his tast
)
my dad likes trance
he got really excited when he found I got the Bedorck - Heaven Scent (Original/Evolution dub) vinyl, cuz he loves that tune
they got all kinds of my trance cds in their cars.
My mom likes Armin's A State of Trance Episodes and my dad loves PvD live sets.

*hug parents*
