that's a lot to ask
because there's so much stuff that goes on in a mix it's hard to put to words

it's something you have to experience visually or hear

and if you're looking for tricks and stuff
just slap on a couple of records and experiment
develop your own style...
biting someone else's style is kinda lame
but if you take that style and add your own twist, then all is well

remember, this is an artform
express yourself
don't express someone else

Hello!

Its true and all.. freedom of expression.. but many ppl suggested to me that i copy sumone's style.. will make it easier to implement my own style.. hmmm.. well C how we go ey?

I find the title of this thread to be quite funny. Many DJ's are very skilled,,, yet they don't seem to get a fair chance to showcase thier skills and in turn to get paid for DJ'ing. So the thread could just as easily be called... Do you have the 'connections' to pay the bills. lol

yes, very sad but true

yea
basically, if you're making enough from djing to cover your record costs, then you can consider yourself a successful dj

I wish I made enough money from djing to pay the bills! LOL I can pay for my records but bills is a different story. That would be a dream come true if all I had to do was dj!
