-- What is harder:?
what would u say is harder, producing trance or mixing?
hmmm it depends on the person i think..
but if u can mix.. producing is a lot easier
I think Producing Trance thats good Trance would be munch harder , beat maching is not all the complex its all about timing and practice ,
i agree with dj pete on that one
i'm just starting to get into producing trance, it's a lot harder than mixing, all it takes is practice though
shockwav out
I don't see how those two can be compared ... producing and spinning are two totally different things with different requirements.
A DJ is a performer who must be able to read the crowd and make them have a good time ...
Producing is more distanced from the crowd and focuses on music itself rather than the performing aspect of it ...
I don't think it can be said that either one is harder ... it isn't a rare occasion that you would hear awesome producers bring out bad sets when they're behind the decks ...
That depends on your talents. Some people think producing is 2 complicated, I think DJing is complicated.
i think if u know how to do one and the other it will be easier for both...
hmm, i've always thought that producing quality trance would be a lot harder than mixing... its true, as a dj your job would be to please the crowd and make them have an amazing time, but producing music to take them on that journey is something special which requires a lot of emotions and hard work... i don't think everyone can produce quality tracks, but i do believe that almost anyone can figure out the basics of mixing and relatively easy become good at mixing...

Good mixing and good DJing isn't the same ... you can teach anybody how to mix in a few days, but the way they mix and what tracks they mix is much harder to grasp ...
Again, i must repeat what I said before, spinning (in front of a crowd) and producing are two totally different things which require a different approach and they can't be compared directly.

I dunno, I agree with Skywarp - it's like comparing building cars with driving cars.
