Lame encoder >> Joint Stereo?!?!

ok guys, can anyone tell me what's the difference between 'Stereo' & 'Joint Stereo'??!

I'm encoding a lot of cd's lately and ofcourse I only want the best quality!!

which settings are the best > with or without 'joint'?

or does anyone have good settings for the lame encoder for me (no VBR)?!?!

Thanks, Kamaya.

I found this site! Explains a lot to me, I'm keeping it @ 224 kbit/s joint stereo (done about 10 cd's so I'm glad this is supposed to be the best option)

cuz i still don't get why your encoding it if you're going to be recording it as an audio cd!?!?

ohh i get it!!! stupid me....
my brain didn't register the 'encoding a lot of cd's ' part!!!!

When I encode my rips, I have it at 192k Stereo, Not joint stereo cause joint stereo messes with the sound quality of the music making them a bit smaller, So if I were you, encode them in Stereo instead of joint stereo.

stereo > joint stereo

Stereo / Joint Stereo (if my memory serves me right) is just a different way to store the channels data (mixed vs sequential)... Thus, it makes no real difference, or so I think...
