Persitant users who r banned, keep signing up
Just wondering if there was a way to perm ban a 56k user from the forums?
Coz there is a certain member who keeps resigning up, and its getting annoying
So is it possible?
Fly
don't think it's possible, he has a changing ip, maybe contact the isp so he can be blocked for this website, but they will never do that
it could be done, as the isp has a ip range for certain areas, and swamper could also ban such fings as borswer types and screen resoultions if he had the time to do the coding
Many ways to get back in (router) unfortunately. But why would you?

yes turner is a gimp
DJ_Santa_Clause.........ban him!
*turns informer*

i can easily suspend turner as many times as he tries to comeback, no problems.
The moment turner starts using a new name, if anyone can prove to me its him reguardless if hes behaving ill suspend him for his previous crap, thats if neo or ste hasnt beaten me to it
Personally if they've been banned & not let back in by swamper, then they should be banned again on new names, my opinion neway, and with most ppl knowing who the trouble makers are eg turner, its obv who they are when they resign up so should be easy to complete
just ignore the ppl, theyll get lonely and go else where.

It's a lot more effort for them to signup than for you to ban them. Keep banning them without giving them the reaction they're looking for and they'll either get bored of it or start behaving properly.
When people start having a go and giving them the attention they're looking for it just makes it worth signing up again in their eyes. Ban them without comment and they'll soon go elsewhere.
That won't do shit. There are ways to get around that. For example, wehn I was banned I just started using altavista.com translator and logged onto the web site and kept posting, simple and I know theres other ways.
who is this "turner" you guys speak of? he sounds nearly as bad ass as "james"

too much hassle for banning a few users FLY ,
not to much hassle really, all that it takes it to ban a ip range, a few clicks and its done

i give it to you from a perspective of a person who knows something about networking...
it is impossible to cut this person off completely. if he uses an ip from his ISP network block, that means that you have to ban the whole subnet (meaning probably thousands of innocent users) to get rid of one person. but even if you do, there is such thing as a proxy server (and you can find tens of thousands of them by simply entering "proxy list" in google for free). the only viable way is to report to ISP that at this particular time the user with this ip address (and it's very easy for an ISP to search through the logs and find out the user) abused our site - and not for the first time - (and show evidence of it, with the ip address of the person and the time seen at the page), and asking to terminate the contract with the user completely or to restrict the user from accessing the website by adding an extra line to the routers access list. but the offense has to be really serious for an ISP to go through all of this pain-in-the-ass procedure.
