do people ever actually review anything in here..

alll i ever see is the title of some new MP3 or sumthing that isnt even out yet, and the contents being "OMG" or "this rocks"

come on, you could at least talk about the style of the track or sumthing. rather than jsut try and show off your |337 new rips

Posted by InfiniteSquare on Dec-16-2002 18:01:

i agree

its like "a-aplz new mp3 track of the day"

OMFG or I hate this track

WHAT THE FUCK DOES ANYONE GET FROM THAT?

Posted by Mystoz on Dec-16-2002 18:26:

i agree to that 100% not that i post new release but there sould be more info..

Posted by Ste on Dec-16-2002 18:45:

let me get it clear its not the fact that they are jsut mp3's theyre talking about, its the fact that pointless non reviewing threads like "this rox" or "this is shite" are put up just to show off new mp3 releases...

like when people used to post .nfo files etc. its a bit sad...

Posted by m0sh on Dec-16-2002 19:00:

fu ste you do that

Posted by xtr3m on Dec-16-2002 19:29:

Yah, this section of the forums is pretty much all about the bragging...

Posted by Technaut on Dec-16-2002 20:34:

in answer to ur question: no not really

Posted by VaNFeCto on Dec-18-2002 17:53:

Ive only posted once or twice here as well, but i mean the OMFG or its sux is a brief review summary,i mean it kinda gives me the heads up, but then again it would always be nice to hear a more in depth review.

Posted by oDrori on Dec-18-2002 18:13:

This forum turned into a New Release Recommendation Forum . If you are going to put any effort into a post, it's gonna be washed out to the 2nd page by tommorow anyway so why bother?

Congratulation Ste for making the first ever (or in a while) discussional thread in this section!

Posted by Technaut on Dec-18-2002 22:31:

this is quite possibly the best review on a tune I have ever seen in this section

its riveting, honest

LOL - quality

However I agree wholehartedl with this discussion. What's the point in a review section that doesn't review or reccomend anything in any more depth than a puddle?

Posted by Philby on Dec-19-2002 12:36:

well i always thought of this section where people mention the new tracks and sets etc with little descriptions so you know when there is new stuff out. if you want to discuss it, try the music discussion forum?

Well this forum is called "CD Reviews / New Releases Discussion"...

Note the words "Reviews" and "Discussion"... I have no idea how mentioning the track name constitutes a review or would initiate much of a discussion, apart from...

w0000t!

quote:
OMFG!

quote:
who hear that?

And last but not least...

I think Swamper should just remove the "Releases" part from this forum's name because it clearly misleads some people with a leeching syndrome.

Posted by InfiniteSquare on Dec-19-2002 18:50:

was better when people were allowed to post the full release title...then you could see if it were a real release or not

Posted by Floorfiller on Dec-19-2002 19:50:

all i do in this forum is look to see what is new and then what people are saying about it. if people like it that have similar taste to me then i'm gonna check it out. if its something the ste might listen to then i through it out the window.

Posted by benfica88 on Dec-22-2002 03:53:

Actually I don't care wehter tehy post a review, cause i'll listen to it, then come back and post me own review.

sarcasm and or parody aside, it was good review, and exactly what i'd like to see. i wanna know if it's a strings track, if it's got hardbass, if the melody is weak in a review.

well done with it

p.s. yes this section is an ego-stroking centre for all the no-lifes to see how many new releases and threads they can create with smallest possible syllables in words

Posted by Mail Man on Dec-22-2002 23:14:

i use the section to read about new tracks by producers that i like. i cant keep up 2 date with what they all bring out.

there reviews i dont really care. yes iam 1 of the ppl who do put "this is good" or "it sux" but thats only to let other ppl who like the style and to tell them its worth a listen.

Posted by Vanilla on Dec-23-2002 00:23:

I dont really use this forum for finding out about every song, I use it to find the GOOD songs.
Here's what I look for in a review:
1. Style of music
-I hate downloading a huge track that everyone's raving about to find out it's just some prog song (no offense to prog lovers)
2. Is it good or not
-"It rocks" is fine as long as enough people think so.
3. Diffrent mixes available
-just cuz some songs kick so much ass you want every mix

Posted by DJ Freestyle on Dec-25-2002 07:42:

Smoking ..umm..something

I think some of us get very lazy & don't feel like reviewing every track that's out there... I'm one of them. If it's a mind-blowing track I probably would give a track a full review.
