Exclamation MATT HARDWICK @ Viva Nightclub Fri Jan 17, 2003

VIRTUAL FRIDAYS SPECIAL EVENT...

MATT HARDWICK
Serious World UK

Friday January 17, 2003

The programming of his sets is perfect His choice of music is unique and he can take a night from a serious heads down moment to a full on hands in the air party. Jon OO Flemming, M8 Magazine January 2002

Having resided at one of the worlds premier clubs, Gatecrasher, for almost seven years no one could ever question Matts ability. However, it is only in the last 18 months that his reputation and following has reached new heights having explored new territories outside the walls of the superclub he knows and loves. During 2002 Matt cemented his growing stature by completing his first Radio 1 Essential Mix and by being invited to feature as a guest mixer on Fergies Radio 1 show. Matt is also scheduled to record his second Essential Mix in Jan 2003.

Matt developed his art playing before some of the industries biggest names and saw this as a good grounding, learning the art of developing tension within his music and being able to read the crowd. More recently, Matts later sets have become equally as popular amongst clubbers across the board- he was given the honour of playing the final set in the main arena at Gatecrashers Summer Sound System to some 15,000 people. Additionally, Gatecrasher are now featuring Matt as a Solo artist. On such occasions Matt will be the headline DJ at the club playing for four or six hours. Matts forthcoming dates at Godskitchen, Golden, Slinky, The Gallery, The Empire, The Met, Room at the Top as well as his prestigious residency at Promise in Newcastle demonstrate that his talent is now recognised throughout the UK.

Matt has also developed a solid international reputation DJing across the globe headlining Gatecrashers Global Sound System tour. He has recently played in China, Japan, South Africa, The Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Finland, Ibiza and his favourite the USA. Matts wife heralds from the Big Apple, hence, his regular gigs at the Limelight, NYC.

C'mon Ilia we all know you'll be there front row center for Hardwick. If they even somehow manage to bring Marco V back as well? DAMN!

Posted by Matt on Dec-18-2002 03:35:

FUCK YEA!!!

(Btw, what about those Pulser rumours going around... 2 headliners in 2 weeks?! that'd rock... but put a dent in my wallet too)

Posted by itikia on Dec-18-2002 04:00:

Well, this event should not be missed!! Matt is definitely a future star in the making. Young guy, tremendous talent and he plays no filler trance!!!

See all you guys there!

Peace,

itikia

I'll have to talk to Spy-D, but me thinks we'll be there... Durafei, if you need a ride, drop me a line..

Sounds good I'll try to make it out for Hardwick

what happened to Hartec?! I need some rigid Italian hardstyle

Posted by Matt on Dec-19-2002 03:38:

where's the poster

need to promote this event via the locker @ school

Posted by Elmo-On-XTC on Dec-19-2002 04:18:

I might check this one out. My new years resolution is to save my money...i can probably work something out tho

Posted by Richard Taylor on Dec-19-2002 04:24:

Ah yeah!!! Another fine selection by boys.....I will be there for sure....

Ari,
Towards the end of Talla, the crowd was getting tired. Because most of us TAs get there early (by 12), it might be better if Hardwick could start a bit sooner (and end a bit later, he he).
Just a thought....

Looking forward to yet another great event!

Peace,
Rich

Relax. It's called a special event, ei somebody brings in a headliner for the party and if there is enough time then the residents spin after or before (depending on how many residents there are). It's ONE night. Hartec will always be there, just go see him another time. The tunes he dropped last time we were there right before Talla, damn! Bring on Hardwick!

Viva is open for 8 hours, obviously there are going to be residents playing alongside the headliner. I guarantee!!!!! this lineup is purely political in Nature. Hartec should open for every headliner they bring there, he's the only DJ I've heard in this city that plays a completely different, Kick-ass set everytime I hear him!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by itikia on Dec-19-2002 20:27:

Yeah, I understand your concerns! But it's only fair to allow the other Viva residents open for an out-of-town DJ. So far Hartec has opened for all the special events, minus the Fergie show which OS/2 opened for.

Regardless, Hartec will open for the next DJ coming through in Feb 2003.

Question to you:
* Do you go to Viva on Regular nights when Hartec is there?

About once a month, but miss his set sometimes when he plays 11-2.

Well, then go there when Hartec is playing there and stop complaining..

Hardwick + Oliver + Ivals is possibly the finest combination of Trance DJs that we've seen all year ! It should be sooo awesome !

BUDDY, YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR ASS FROM A HOLE IN THE GROUND. POSSIBLY THE CHEESIEST LINEUP!!!!!!!! GET TEN YEARS OF TRANCE UNDER YOUR BELT THEN TALK TO ME. OTHERWISE KEEP YOUR IGNORANT(as in uneducated) COMMENTS TO YOURSELF. Ivals is a club DJ, not a trance DJ, so is Oliver. Just because you throw some trance into your set doesn't make you a trance DJ.
